After seeing carleast's deal for the lower end Philips Steam Station at Myer, I thought I'd see how the top model was fairing price-wise. Sure enough, it's as cheap as it ever gets - $68 less than Appliances Online, $70 cheaper than HN, $200 cheaper than DJ's and JB. Can be found at a slightly lower price on eBay before cashback, but eBay sales are ineligible for the Philips cashback offer.

If only the best will do, then this is a great time to score Philips' top model for just over $350 off RRP!

whats wrong with a kettle to make steam?

  • "Elite Silence Steam Generator" but we already got Malcolm and his NBN for free
    … come at me!

  • ok

  • you know, i like to spend excess money on some things, but an iron i don't think i would want to spend that much on. i understand if you do lots of ironing but at that point why not buy something industrial

    • FWIW, I have this model at home and it's fantastic. My personal experience is that with the exception of trying to iron already damp clothing, these steam stations are far superior to a standard iron. I'm sure the cheaper one at Myer will do for most people, but I figured some folks may still be interested in knowing that the higher end model was also available for effectively the same rrp as the lower end models.

      • i really don't doubt you. i've never used a "proper" iron, just some cheap crap from kmart. i should probably try one of these; maybe just a cheaper one first tho

    • How much would an industrial iron cost? And how big would it be?

$749 RRP for a clothes iron? Have people lost their minds?

    • Agree RRP is crazy. Would never pay that much.

I don't suppose you'd be interested in the Laura Star ironing systems then.
