Hire car for Melbourne.

Hi All,

About 2 years back or so, you guys helped me find a car rental place at a reasonable price.
I ended up going with Ace Car rental, price was SO much cheaper than competing companies. Also they had a pickup option in Melbourne. (seemed to be a cross deal with Hertz?)

So now they don't offer this and the only way to get a car from them is to go to the airport, which is not, in any way, ideal for me. :(

Anyone know how I can get a cheap car for about 3 or 4 days in 10 days time? (Without going to the darn airport to get it….)

According to their page, I can get an SUV without a GPS for approx $45 a day if I hire Thur 11'th Morn -> Sunday 14'th evening.

I'm cool paying 10 or 15 more I suppose but from what I gather, Europcar and Hertz is more like double Ace.

Any other ideas?

  Their cars are slightly older but are still in good shape.

  I'm not sure they have SUVs so they may not suit you at all. I had a quick look and it seems cars are between $35-40 per day.

  I've rented with them before and they have always had good service.

  europcar - even their european discount codes work and they are one of very few to offer $0 excess insurance.
