Lenovo Price Hike When Adding to Cart?!

Hey Ozb !

I was just wondering if anyone has come across the same thing …

When placing a custom order through Lenovo's website for an X1.. the price at time of customisation is $2348.00 but when you reach the cart review page, as they apply their automated "DEAL" code, the price hikes up to $2758.00" so if you use any coupon codes, rather than you purchasing for $1995.00, it becomes $2344.3 (15%) OR $2187.00 (20%)…

Smells fishy unless anyone can explain otherwise

Any insight or experiences would be awesome.

  • You need to use DEALS coupon code…

In the customisation pages it show the total with DEALS coupon code applied (which gives $400 discount on X1 Carbon). However when you finalise and add to the cart, it shows the price without the coupon code, where you need to manually enter in the coupon code to get discounted price.

Lenovo are dodgy all round, google "Lenovo root kit fiasco": http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/bitwise/2015/02/len…

They even tried to deny they'd sold out their own customers' bank details to hackers when they got caught, instead of apologising and fixing it (until forced to).

I won't ever buy Lenovo again.

  • Lenovo rep advised that my order was placed into Authentication for some reason, stated that I'd receive a call back confirming the order as I did not receive the actual order number, did not receive a call or email..

Every rep keeps requesting for an "order number however the system did not provide the right one so they keep saying that "its not the right sequence"

My view is that if I'm willing to give them my money to purchase a device and they don't even make the effort to proceed further, what's post purchase support going to be like !

    Sigh .
