Eneloops and Laddas

I've been trying to get my head around the eneloop game for ever.
with so many different types and brands i've become more and more confused.,

I walked around the house today and had a look as what I have batterys in,
Most of them were TV remotes or clocks.
I think the biggest user of battery power was my wireless keyboard for my mac.

Whats the best eneloops to go for for these items? and are the Ladda at ikea good enough?
thanks

  • I use both.

I've found the Ikea ones to be a perfectly good substitute for the Eneloop. My biggest use lately has been my gameboy-advance and I'm getting almost identical run time between brands.

  • I am a fan of Eneloops (and also Ladda). But I still use single use battery for clocks and TV remotes as they draw very little power.
I use Eneloop and Ladda in high power products only, like flashlights, old bluetooth mouse, etc.

  • The IKEA Laddas are re-branded Eneloop pros which are actually Fujitsu pros made by FDK in Japan. You lose charge cycles to gain extra capacity they are min/average 2450mah i think.

Also i am yet to see an Eneloop live to the stated recharge cycles. I am not saying they can not do it but 2100 charge cycles really….

  • +1

Stick with standard eneloops, I guess. I would.

eneloop pro = more storage capacity but less claimed charge cycles
eneloop (standard) = less storage capacity than Pro but (far) more claimed charge cycles
eneloop lite = far less storage & even more charge cycles than regular eneloops and Pro eneloops

I've only used the standard models. I like them but don't for a second believe the 'lab condition' cycle or 'capacity left in storage' claims of Sanyo (now owned & branded by Panasonic) and never did.

The rate at which the claimed charge cycles have increased as the years have rolled on have been too steady & too 'convenient' for me to accept, but maybe they have done it. Maybe they have really made those improvements. Anyway, these batteries are good: far better than 'standard' Ni-MH cells that discharge too much in storage. Which is why I now have heaps of them & am never going back. They basically replace all that came before. With spacers, they can act as C and D cells too.

I haven't tried the IKEA batteries. The Amazon rechargeables are claimed to be eneloops as well, but I haven't verified any of this & am in no rush to.
