I would never buy one of these for several reasons - no resale, price, from a jeweller, etc. However, I have to admit I do find that black dial model quite attractive and the decorated ETA movement is a thing of beauty. Surprised at the RRP prices they don't even mention the lume type other than Luminova or show the clasp. I wouldn't consider these watches quite large though, 42mm is pretty standard these days and 12mm is quite thin for an auto. LOL at the quartz price!

    • the only reason this brand is famous is because they got Obama to wear one… and then the Secret Service bought a batch.

Other than that? Nah. prices pulled from their a-holes. $500 for a quartz? No.

      • Your backstory interested me, but my quick search on the web seems to indicate that Obama and the secret service wears something called a 'Jorg Gray'? Mistaken identity?

        • Yup, mistaken identity.

This is for design-fans. Not watch-fans.

Georg Jensen is a Danish design company. Lots of gorgeous silversmithing.

You'd buy this watch because of how it looks. The innards will be outsourced from somewhere else anyway.

@KentT: Of course the movement is outsourced, it's Swiss ETA, but the movement is decorated with a custom rotor which adds $,

  • Archieluxury would call these "horological dogshit"

Check out the watch guru on Youtube

  • The watches don't have much character. Don't think they would be selling these anyway irrespective of the movement. Unknown brand quartz for $500. Daring

    • George Jenson as a brand is quite well known…just not for watches.

    • It's a Ronda 515.24H movement, hardly unknown, and neither is the brand, just not known as much for their watches.

How much would you pay for a Seiko or Citizen Stainless steel 316L, Sapphire glass Quartz watch?

      • I paid $350 for my SEIKO SARG009 automatic watch. 6R15 movement, sapphire glass, stainless steel etc. It's a fantastic watch. Definitely a step up from quartz movement too!

        • Nice, and v good price, $795 at watchdirect (not that I know if that means anything).

Personally I wouldn't buy the Quartz, the ETA 2892 at $838 is the 'bargain' IMHO.

        • $350 is a very good price for SARG009. Awesome bargain.
I got the Seiko alpinist for a little more than $500. I did not measure but it's movement is on par if not better than my Longines. I personally would not pay this much even if I am getting an ETA movement on a brand which is not well known for watches.

        • I love the SARG009. Hoping to pick one up at South stage. Great price.
