Leads on Car Carrying Canberra - Melbourne?

I have a non drivable project car parked at the parents in Canberra, dad is putting his house on the market so I need to get it down to me in Melbourne before he has it towed away for scrap like he did my last project car >__<

Any leads on what's the cheapest way or company recomendqtions you've had experience with?

Cheers.

Was gunna say CEVA but your non-drivable bit will cause some headaches for the mainstream carriers.

Is borrow a 4wd off a mate and rent a car trailer an option?

  • Hire a trailer and drive down?

  • Non drivable? Is that "not registered but moves" or "no engine but on tires" or some other variation.

  • Answers to questions like "does it have wheels?" and "Does it roll?" would help. Exactly how "non driveable" is it? Would it drive itself onto a trailer?

  • Do Auto-Logistics transport non running vehicles or project vehicles?
Yes, we can provide you with a quote to transport non running vehicles/project cars. They need to be rollable, have working hand brake and foot brakes, unlocked and working steering, have a driver seat fitted and the tyres need to be pumped up.

If your vehicle is not in full 100% working mechanical order, your vehicle will be classed as a non runner to prevent possible further damage (this includes overheating or misfiring).

If your vehicle is a non runner due to having a flat battery, it would be cheaper if you were to replace the battery, instead of transporting it as a non runner.

It is important to advise us of any issues with the vehicle during the quoting process to ensure that you have been given the correct price and to avoid any additional fees.

  • There's a slim chance I could get it running long enough to drive onto a trailer but I was hoping not to have to go back to Canberra. All fluids have been sitting in it and gone gross and it's not been started in probably 2 years or more. It doesn't have a battery though I'll need to get one anyway. How much is a car trailer and would I have to return it back to Canberra? Or is it like a hire car where I can return it to any branch.

I don't have a 4wd and wouldn't wanna impose on a friend so the cheapest non-runner transport company would be best but I'm open to other options if it makes it much cheaper..
