Small Business ERP in Australia

Good afternoon Everyone

I work for a 8-10 employee firm who makes packaging Inserts. We use a 20 year old DOS program to manage office. My boss has assigned me the task of finding a new ERP system which could essentially do the following

  1. Have a customer database with options to input and record data (contact details, Past orders etc)
  2. Ability to create quotes (dummy quotes and actual quotes from parts)
  3. Ability to create purchase orders to vendors as pdf
  4. Ability to create job sheet for factory which will have editable process and bill of materials, option to add drawing files(jpeg\pdf).
  5. Ability to create invoices.

More flexible the option to create and relate the data, the better it will be.

Does anyone know if they use any system which is easy to learn and use for employees in age around 30-50?

Thanks,
vivekviswa

  • MYOB Very user friendly and easy to customize.

    • Hi, Thank you for suggestion. Our Accountant\book keeper does use MYOB but Unfortunately she indicated that MYOB has nothing of sort that could do things like creating a jobsheet for a particular part of customer which will have Bill of materials(Parts from vendors) and editable processes.

  • What's your budget? I was in the same situation 3 years back, we have a new(old now) ERP which does exactly what you mentioned in your post, but has more options to work with job-sheets and work orders.

The software has some flaws but does the job, previously my boss was using a accounting software to these things and always found themselves chasing their tail.

The software is managed(back end) and supported very small team so it is not available straightway but PM me and I will send you their details.

There are few out there, as mentioned above SAP is one of the best, but will cost more.

    • Hi mate, We're too poor company to afford SAP (At least according to my boss). He would not spend more than 20,000AUD for a software. Kindly PM me the name of software so I could see and check with my boxx.

  • SAP hands down!

  • ERP is the best for any business..

  • You can go down the SAP road if you want. SAP has already captured the large enterprise segment and is currently focusing on small to medium size businesses. I am a SAP consultant and I know that they are offering deals at a very cheap price for 1 or 2 end user licenses.

If you think that SAP is a beast, you can look at SAP Business One or their cloud offerings. You wont have to pay for installation, server cost. Give them a call and see what they have to offer.

  • yes it's covers of core business functions including Financial Management, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing Scheduling, and more …

  • NetSuite.

  • I am a BDM with JCurve Solutions. We have developed the JCurve edition of NetSuite, which is geared towards smaller companies and could get close to your expected budget, and future proof your business with a direct upgrade path to NetSuite Mid-Market if you grow to that point.

The JCurve edition has some reduced functionality compared to the full commercial versions, but could suit your business.

We are also able to offer all editions of NetSuite as well.

Feel free to PM me for any further details.

edit – I worked as an end-user with NetSuite Mid-Market WD edition, including the implementation process. The experience was hugely satisfying over a period of 3 years.

TrueERP covers your core business functions including Financial Management, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing Scheduling, and more …

    • TrueERP is an abhorrent product. Just Google 2Clix, Platinum One, TotalERP and TrueERP to see it's history, along with the vast volume of horror stories.

  • Hello op,

How did you go with this?
What did you end up using?
