What do you think of the OZ Post delivery service in your area?

This Australia Post/Star track parcel delivery man always appears very unfriendly and closes our front gate loudly when he deliveries the parcel. This morning, I asked nicely if he could close it softly this time. He gave me a mocking face, didn't say a word, left, and banged my gate harder than usual. It's very disturbing. I think he's very lazy as well. He refused to bring a parcel to our front door, left it in our carport and told me to move it myself previously. I seriously wonder how he could keep the job with such attitude.

We have a 5-star exceptional postie. He drives down our bumpy 200m driveway to the house and never complains. Last Xmas he dressed up as Santa to amuse the kids when doing deliveries.

I have no issues. It is the non Aust Post couriers who sometimes jerk me around.

I love my AU Post lady. She flirts with me :D

    • Did she pork the whole neighborhood ?
[reference to pork tv ad with postie]

  • Did you give them a gift at Christmas?

Remember that it is not the company, the service is just dependant on the couriers values and personality.

I had an Aust post courier leave a package right on my doormat, and signed 'my signature', on a parcel that was Signature required. I was very surprised to find the notification that my parcel was delivered as I knew no one was home at the time.

Lodged a complaint, I got the fake signature sent to me to verify (brother is an Aus Post supervisor), and submitted a complaint.

Now my deliveries are sent by the Supervisor and hes a very very friendly nice man.

If you have any complaints, send them to the Aus Post complains page as they forward them on to the area supervisor to review! (i guess results are also dependant on who the supervisor is…)

Do they even do deliveries to home?
I always had to collect them from the post office if they manage not to loose the parcel.

I got a text yesterday - "AusPost: Your delivery is due tomorrow"
    Sweet!

Then I got a text today - "Auspost: Sorry, your delivery has been delayed and is unlikely to arrive today"
    Boooooo!

  • Depends on the postie - had one that was great. Currently got one that is extremely rude and unpleasant quite deliberately.

Cant do anything about it because your post just stops.

Guess that means local supervisor ain't friendly either.

    Swings and roundabouts.
Our current postie delivering letters is excellent, takes care, and is thoughtful to not leave large items poking out of the letterbox if it might rain (for example).
Our previous parcel contractors were also outstanding, delivering to the door every time, and even popping items inside the door if the weather looked bad and it was unlocked.
The new contractors are doing more and more carding and run, meaning a trip to the post office. I'm not fussed, as either I or a kid can easily walk up most days and it is unusual that we don't want milk or bread or something, but I do miss the old guys who delivered no matter what.

In terms of blame, I'd suggest the outsourcing to private contractors who are awarded based on lowest cost per delivery might explain the pressure your deliverer is under to drop and run as quick as possible.

  • Depends on postie as others say: my home postie for letters and parcels, they're both awesome and reliable. My fathers work area postie is dodgy af. Things get "delivered" without a trace of it anywhere.
