I purchased two G4s from ebay for me and my mum about 15 months ago.
Just today, My mum's phone got the bootloop issue. I've know this issue existed because I'm an active user of ozbargain but I don't know what to do from now.
Do I contact LG to get it fixed or what?
EBay - likely grey-import. Contact the seller you bought it off
If it is grey import just buy a new phone and move on.

I a friend had the same issue outside the 12 month warranty with Kogan and they still offered a replacement phone (different brands but similar $)
Same kinda thing with me. Got a free replacement G4 from QD-AU 4 months out of warranty.
How did you convince them to do that? I am in the same situation right now.
After I answered some questions (like what the problem was and if I rooted it), they offered to repair mine for $80. Then all of a sudden they said they could send me a free refurbished model if I sent mine back, so I got it. It seems to be in pretty good condition. The whole process took 2 months though, but it'd be worth waiting.
Buy a new phone.

I already contacted LG and they said they're gonna have to check whether they can fix it or not and told us they would contact us back on Monday. But after reading the comments, I've given up my hope. Looking for a new phone now.
Did they ask where did you buy, ie Australia stock or not?
