Purchasing from Amazon - Need some assistance

Hello everyone.

I'm about to purchase the Acer Predator XB271HU, but none of the Aus retailers I buy from have any in stock (Mwave, PC Case Gear).

I just found this deal on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N11QIYW/ref=ox_sc_act_imag… BUT I have a few questions:

  • They have free shipping and the monitors price is $599, is this US dollars or Australian?

  • Never purchased from Amazon before, is this seller/supplier I linked (Not sure how it works) trustworthy?

  • And lastly, would I be better off waiting for one of the Aus retailers to have it in stock for easier warranty and returns? They do not have a ETA. Amazon says the monitor will be delivered by this Friday.

    The free shipping is to the USA only. You will find that it will add about $100US in shipping when you put your address in, its all in USD.

    The supplier you have linked is Amazon themselves, they are trust worthy.

      What daveaus said is right. Note for shipping and delivery times, it depends on how much you want to spend - priority, express, but when I do the cheapest option I normally get it within 10 days and they have tracking too thats handled very well.

      Also warranty is most likely handled through Amazon if you purchased with them. So if there any issues you would have to ship it back to them and open up a case. I havent had any cases with warranties yet so I cant really say much since most of my purchases are small devices. But I know they have a RMA/return Item option for your order.

        Thanks for all that info @daveaus and KitchenSink096, really helpful. I'm going to think about it, but I think I'll be better off with a Au based retailer. It comes to around $1100ish if I purchase from Amazon with fast delivery.

    USD and will be expensive to ship
    Direct from amazon who match $15 to send back for returns and (i think) warranty

      may not actually be in stock. a lot of computer stores deliberately say they have 1 stock when they actually don't have any and need to order it from their supplier.

        Yeh, gonna hold off untill PC Case Gear or MSY get some in. I wonder why they are sold out in almost every retailer I know. Demand must be high?
