  • How do these compare to beats X?

  • Looking for a pair of wireless earbuds for gym and MTB. Anyone used these or similar and can give any comments?

    • Think faster next time? :P

      • Considering most places are selling them within a couple of dollars of this price, I'm not exactly worried about missing out!

MSY are doing them for $64 if you're able to easily get to a store

I've used these before, previously purchased from MSY for <$60. Currently available for $64

I didn't have any issues with sound quality, and voice calls were clear. Battery life was fantastic.

I did have issues with volume of the headset via bluetooth connections; for my Marshmallow based Android device, the volume of the headset was linked directly to the volume of the bluetooth output on my phone. The main issue I had with this was the minimum volume for bluetooth on my phone was way too loud. Google search with other people with similar issues with their bluetooth headsets.

I also ran it with a Nougat based Android device, which didn't have any issues. Volume could go down sufficiently low to be comfortable for me. May be a device specific issue.

The other issue I had with it, that led me to stop using it altogether was that the design of the neckpiece is back heavy, at least for me. The front arms don't go in front sufficiently to keep it wrapped there, and the shortish cable to your earpieces means it is always being pulled up a little bit. What this led to was day to day, when doing stuff or walking, it would intermittently fall back. One unfortunate time, as I had taken out my earpieces while talking to a friend on a tram, it fell back and I didn't notice.

I probably won't be buying another, and will stick to the ones with a cable around the neck rather than the neckpiece.

    • Good info there. Most others in this style have the cable coming out halfway down the horse-shoe though so shouldn't suffer the same problem.
