Jacket - waterproof, worn as outer layer. More insulated than soft shell.

Soft shell - waterproof, but to a lesser degree. Can be worn as a layer under jacket.

Premium jacket - made of higher quality material than a regular jacket. You probably won't need this if you're only planning to go to the snow once or twice.

      • Thank you!

  • Will make for suitable winter clothing generally.

And the goggles and gloves good for angle grinding.

      • +1

The helmet will bode well when driving in Sydney traffic.

Ei. And the scarf… the scarf good for pruning the hedges….of many small …villages!

Used Aldi gear for the past 5 skiing trips in NZ, I liked it better than my Columbia jacket which was much more expensive. Does not bother me at all if I see one or two other people with the same design…. gives me more money to use for the lift passes

  • I wonder how waterproof and warm the normal jacket would be. Last year I had to buy my teen a proper rain jacket for school camp. Wasn't cheap. Appeared to tick all the boxes. She ended up not needing it but I went to northern Thailand with it and there were some definite leaks. Not pleasant but it was warm and I had a hotel to go back to with other clothes. I'd hate to see her get wet in a cold environment. She'll have a few more school camps where it's mandatory to have a proper rain coat.

  • Does anyone know where you can get a size chart for the Aldi snow pants? Trying to save some time at the sale which sounds crazy!! If anyone has bought them before and can give me an idea of sizing. Usually a Ladies 14 - 16 in pants so would this be L or XL? What is stock like in SA - southern suburbs there are heaps of different Aldi stores, not sure which one to head to!

  • Styles looking very disappointing this year. I feel some of the links are duplicates. Anyone got a better copy of the full catalogue?

  • Snow gear!!! Snow gear is here!!! Got my catalogue today!! I want that and that… 😄 Happy hunting everybody!!

  • can hardly wait.

  • I got Anacondas catalogue today with their snow gear 20% off. Doesn't have ratings, costs more and doesn't look as good, but may be an ok second choice if you miss out on Aldi stuff.

    • They have ratings, from 5k to 15/20k

It's worth getting a 2nd pair of gloves if you're noob or spend a lot of time with your hands on the snow. Those Aldi gloves suck in water like nobody's business.

The jackets and pants have outlasted my ignorance to fashion sense. Probably went on 5-6 ski trips without any problems.

  • I see no snow chains anymore. Still have the wrong size (4x4) I bought last year…

    • hoping they sell chains in next sale

  • Hope they stock stores in Adelaide like they do in Melbourne and Sydney

  • Anyone bought ones of their helmets before, hoping to find one in a women's size.

    • Just dropped into My local to try one on. They only have the one size which is adjustable like a bike helmet.
Unfortunately my head was too big for it.
My wife tried it on and she could adjust it to fit her so you might be in luck.

  • Well, I'll just be skipping down to Aldi, loading up with some cheapo ski gear (BYO duffel bag) and then it's off to Mt Bogan for the Bunny Rush .. :-) .. !!

    Have decided…..that I just can't be bothered.

hahah.. lots of posts on facebook this morning, the lines at Aldi are massive! If you weren't there first thing you'll miss out!

  • Was pretty busy at Seaford, SA, from the very beginning, but not too crazy. Got everything I needed!

Got to fountain gate (vic) 15 mins before opening and was 5th in line. There were 60ish waiting when they opened but it was pretty orderly and people seemed to be moving through quickly. Loads of stock left as of 20mins ago.
Sizes run a bit on the larger side. I'm 178cm and usually a large jacket but medium was perfect. Tried on a helmet and it was tiny (or I have a basketball head).
    Happy hunting!

Plenty of stock at the Mount Gravatt East store. I arrived an hour after opening, no lines but a quite few people in store - not too chaotic though. Girl at the register said there was a line around the perimeter of the store before opening so I'm surprised there's plenty of stock left. Every register was open too. Managed to get in and out within 15 minutes.

  • Went by Casey Central (vic) while doing grocery shopping. Should have slept in and just gone there as they have loads left. Bought a couple of more things just because I didn't want to leave empty handed!

Can't wait for the DESERT SALE Aldi. Specials on Asbestos sandles, Date Snack Packs… Oasis Rubber Duckies, Halal Umbrellas…?

I know there will be those who rejoice with this snow sale because of personal agendas, but that aside, it's just what we need here in the sunshine state…. a Snow Gear "Sale". Donald Trump is not alone.

    Get well soon Aldi.

  • Still stock at Melbourne CBD, no ladies pants, very little merino wool left but definitely still worth checking out if you're in the area. Got premium jackets, mens premium pants and a few odd and ends merino wool stuff. Plenty of softshell, ski and snowboard left, not much kids wear.

  • I noticed price discrepancy for Ladies Softshell Jacket. On their website they have mentioned $49.99 and on the catalogue its $59.99. I will be calling them about the price difference refund. Did anyone else notice?

went on a late scavenger hunt. as of just before closing time on day of the sales:
-Stones Corner Aldi has 1 x M ladies premium jacket left. hardly any jackets/pants at all, heaps of gloves, compression, only 1xXL,1xS merino thermals. Apparently they had over 250 people lined up prior to opening this morning and it was hectic haha.
-Mount Gravatt East Aldi has 1 x M mens premium pants left. A bunch (not heaps but worth a scavenger trip) of M,L,XL regular ski/snowboard jackets/pants, also 1 S mens jacket. Heaps of gloves, compression, a bunch of merino sweat top/bottoms left, no merino thermals. bunch of helmets (even the largest was uncomfortably tight for me).

Went to a couple of stores in WA at about 11AM, all gone. You snooze you lose

  • FYI. Ive just been to the Aldi Darlinghurst store and there is still has lots of (snow sale) items available. Aldi Darlinghurst is located at the Oxford Village, Oxford St & Pelican St, Darlinghurst NSW. Get in quick.

  • Just went to my local ALDI and there is still some stuff left. Got a Knit jacket for no reason, no plans to head to anywhere near snow in near future. I do feel colder than normal people so maybe it won't be overkill for me on a chilly day

  • Now that this is almost over. Anyone willing to trade some of the items? I got some wrong sizes :s

  • I bought the Men's Snowboard Jacket in a Large but it's too big for me. I'm looking for the same one in a medium. Any idea which store would still have it in stock in Sydney? Or if anyone is willing to trade, im happy to.

  • I bought jacket and pants for my son from Aldi, and will choose waterproof snow boots on ebay:
    http://stores.ebay.com.au/Beyond-Direct/Toboggan-Snow-Playin…

  • Went to 3 local stores around Sydney (Eastgardens, Maroubra and Eastlakes) today and picked up everything I needed for my daughter (socks, snow boots, base layer, pants, jacket, gloves, helmet, goggles). Decent amount of stock - maybe a large number of returns from those that bought up big in the first day.
