Is Energy Australia still the best? They have 17% & 20% discounts for electricity and gas package.
Sill question: If you don't use your gas at all. Do you pay $0 fees or is there minimum fixed costs?

I'm with agl, 15% gas n 23% electricity. it's a hassle to work out a proper comparison with all their usage or daily charges different with the companies.
It's no different to working out what's a good mobile or internet plan imho just reverse and more working out because there's no such thing as unlimited electricity gas plan.
What's experience with Alinta Energy? You can setup direct debit with your credit card?
I switched to powershop for electricty and they are running around 20% cheaper than I was getting with AGL, provided I pre-buy. They use to have some awesome deals but they seem to have died down a bit though. Plus they don't screw billing up constantly like AGL.
You pay a daily supply charge. EA don't discount this.
