Projector Options for Sub $1500 budget

Early this year, I was looking for a sub $1000 projector for while.

Then finally, I decided to buy a refurbished W1110, but it was out of stock. It's RRP is around $1300, so I set my default home page as that refurbish product site, added few web page monitors to that and waiiiiiiited.

After 3.5 months passed with no updates to that page, I am here.

And also, I have reached a position where I can not resist the urge to have a projector. So, I called Benq. And they said, they are not restocking the refurbed one for the foreseeable future as the faulty devices stopped coming back. And, if they do, I have to be very very lucky to get one.

Therefore, I have decided to increase the budget to $1300. Since I have upgraded the Budget, will there be any other good options I have?

My humble requirements are,

  1. Under $1500
  2. Short throw (3m distance 120inches)
  3. Reasonably low input lag as it would be connected to an Xbox one s in addition to an STB.
  4. Clear/Crisp picture quality for movies.

This will be my first projector, so I'll be happy with the decent quality I think. (as I don't have anything to compare with).

Does anyone own W1090? Any comments on that?

Please give your opinions. Would it wise to spend $1300 on a W1100? ( Ozbargainer in me is looking down at me though. :( )

Or Do shops have End of the Financial year sales that I could jump on? (If so, I'll Wait 2 months and it will enough to content the Inner Ozbargainer)

Thanks in advance. Cheers :).

  • I paid $1795 plus $115 HN gift card for a lg pf1000uw about 3 weeks ago.

It is only 1080 so you might be able to haggle down to $1500 as 4K is all the rage.

Oh, great machine. 100" though is prolly best for it.

It has an inbuilt tv tuner and wifi apps etc.

Goes great with Yamaha 107 soundbar; does hdmi arc perfectly.

Yer, does 3D but havent tried it.

Ultra Short throw is about 40cm.
