Starting out in Beyblades - where to buy?

Hi All,

Any Beyblade players out there with opinions on the best place to source Beyblades for a child that is starting fresh? Any advice what to buy?

Thanks, rakerr.

ask them to play with better toys

  • You use to be able to buy cheap ones from the $2 store about 10ish years ago. But if you want something of quality I would probably say try have a look online, perhaps Amazon?

    They're called Fidget Spinners

My Digimon just died because I didn't clean up its sh1t :(

        Yu-Gioh, I choose you!

Oh and I loved that anime where Naruto completely smashed that Titan and then travelled back in time with a microwave oven only to end up getting smacked by Goku.

        • Remember when Pikachu used to fight Angels in Eva Unit 01 - he was so bad a$$ in that. Until he went crazy!

Check Big W/Target. They should have some with the launcher (1 beyblade + 1 launcher). Get some plastic bowl with a flat base for the stadium. You're probably looking at 2 beyblades minimum so they can battle it out. Also some on eBay but question their authenticity to price ratio.

In regards to which beyblade, the kids generally know which one is better/they prefer. Certain colours/designs affect spin speed/how fast they break etc.

It's all the rage at my kid's school. Don't have much advice on where to source other than the usual Major retailers, maybe Mr Toys online.

One tip - the tips of the Beyblades are plastic and will wear out with use, especially if they're playing on rough playground surfaces. Some parents have bought metal tips to replace the plastic so they last longer eg: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/beyblade-performance-tips Note that this could damage the surface they're playing on (eg: kitchen table, bathtub)

    • I haven't played with Beyblades since I was a kid 10+ years ago but all of them back then had metal tips - and metal weight rings to balance them differently.

They still have the metal weight rings, but the tips are all plastic now. I'm ok with plastic as I'd rather the Beyblade wear out than damaging the floor tiles…

    where to buy?

You sure you don't mean "when to buy?"?

2001 would be a good bet!

  • We bought Bey-blade bursts from Kmart and you can also buy the plastic stadium.

Make sure you buy the launcher for them as well.

We also have the ones from eBay (japan?) which are the proper ones which have a different launcher too.

  • I got it from here: https://www.toffeeexpress.com.au/

They also have beginner guide for parents: https://www.toffeeexpress.com.au/beyblade-burst-beginner-gui…

    • Are you affiliated with this shop? As an ozbargainer i would expect you would of checked ebay and other shops and found that the prices on the linked site are way more than you would need to pay.

Heres a link to the same beyblade your store has for $45 for a total of 24$ delivered. plus with ebay discounts and cash backs it would be even less. Your shop is $12 dollars delivery. So we are looking at $57 vs $24. I think you are on the wrong site!
