Much better than a lounge, yay !!

Looks like the restaurants will check your ID as well. So can't pass the card to another traveller

    • It will be interesting to see how it works, as my card is e.g. J. Smith. Same as my son's.

I wonder if you need a boarding pass as well in order to redeem the meal credit

    • I am also wondering this, because AUSBT says (talking about T1 International) "Mach2 – an extension of Sydney's Machiavelli Restaurant – is the only one of these located landside, before you pass through border control and security, making it well-suited to spending some time with friends or family before you hop onto your flight overseas."

      • yep.. as well as full access to all eateries in T2 and T3…

  • At seven restaurants, bars and bistros in Sydney Airport.
    Terminal 1
    -Benny Burger
    -Mach2
    -Peroni Bar.

    Terminal 2
    -Movida
    -Bistro 2020 & Bar.

    Terminal 3
    -Bar Roma
    -Wok on Air.

    More info on each here:-

  • AUSBT Says $36 per person per visit, so amended original post.

  • Thanks so much for sharing. Good to know. I hope the food would be better than the Amex lounge.

  • I just looked - Sydney only deal guys, no Melbourne or any other city.

  • Great deal. Lots of professionals have the Citi Signature free for life card that grants 2 lounge visits.

  • There IS a chance that you can access these restaurants (Except for Airside T1) without a boarding pass. Just ID and PPass card/digital! Waiting for a guinea pig.
I have the Amex Platinum Charge card with PPass Unlimited entries, and the Amex Platinum Credit card with PPass 2 Entries, plus the Citibank Signature card with PPass 2 Entries.
So, if I can access without a boarding pass, I will go to 2 restaurants at the domestic terminal for dinner and drinks before staying overnight at an airport hotel before an early international flight the next day.

Tried Mach2 at International T1 landside without a boarding pass. It works with just PPass card.

  • Does this remove a visit if you have a ten visit pass? What if you bring three people? Do you get one visit deducted, no visit or four?

    • Yes this is counted as a lounge visit. I can't find the info now, but I am 99.9% sure that if, for example, your have bought a Ten visit pass through PRIORITY PASS, then you can use your pass for you and guests, deducting one visit PER PERSON. IE in your example 4 persons deducts 4 visits from your pass.

There is a lot of info here too about PPass. http://www.pointhacks.com.au/priority-pass-lounge-guide/

Most notably for those who buy membership direct:-
"A warning with Priority Pass. When you sign up they say they will auto renew your membership. Very easy to forget that but if you don’t catch it in time you may be stuck with a membership you no longer require. You need to email them to say you don’t want to renew which is what I advise you all to do. There is usually some offer going on somewhere for new members but of course you’ll renew at the going rate. Don’t be a fool and email them now and cancel. Renew when you are ready and not them."
I agree, from memory there are often deals, which, for example you may get the USD249 10 visit pass for around USD200.

Thanks. Really extraordinary deal for some people.

If I had an unlimited pass I'd be hitting a couple of restaurants, two or three glasses of wine then some tapas as movida

  • +1

Sunday night 8.30pm and all in T2 and T3 are closed for the day.

These restaurants have a PPass machine and they swipe your card and your FULL NAME comes up.
Eggs benedict at Mach2 cold on soggy toast and bottle dressing.
Peroni Bar is way over near gate 58 and not convenient for a lot of departures.
Movida the most expensive for food and grog. Tapas is 1 piece only and the size of 1 hors d'oeuvre. Outlook not great from there either.
Food looks good at Wok on Air.
    Bistro 2020 pleasant outlook.

  • Does anyone have experience with 2 PPass lounges at DMK (Bangkok Discount Carrier Terminal) International T1 (as opposed to their domestic T2)? PPass didn't even know about them when I contacted them. But they are now showing up, and I verified it with one of the lounges. I will report back in 4 weeks time.

  • I can also report for PPass Holders is a brilliant lounge at DMK International Bangkok The Coral Executive Lounge. Experiencing it 'as I speak'. I had a better meal this time at Mach2 also.
