Air New Zealand One Up

Hi,

We're booked on Air New Zealand flying to Rarotonga leaving two weeks today. Our seats are economy. We've received an email offering the One up which would upgrade us to premium economy. The minimum offer is $140 and anything up to $200 is considered a weak bid. Has anyone had a positive result from bidding a minimum price. If you pay for the upgrade now it is $210. Wondering if an upgrade is worth it as it's still only premium economy?

  • Yes, minimum bids still have a good chance of being successful.

I would advise to look up what plane you are flying in (you can possibly use your flight number to do this), and googling what premium economy looks like on that plane, consider the flight time, consider any extra perks (lounge access, extra luggage, etc.), and decide if that is worth $140++ to you.

  • I've bid and one on these sort of offers on other airlines before. but for business class not premium economy if you were to do it, I'd only go $10 above minimum. As others have said premium economy for four hours isn't really worth it, depending on how many of you are flying I think the money would be better invested in a nice meal and bottle of wine at the destination.

  • The flight from Sydney is over six hours. Hubby is quite tall so the extra room might get worth it if we get it for $50 each.

  • Decided against it. The minimum bid is $A140. Helped me decide😕
