iPod Nano - Any Deals out There

My son has killed his ipod he's had for numerous years. So now in a dire need to get his ears plugged back into his music. I'm not up to date with latest version as it looks near identical to the last one he had.

So where's the best price and whats the best version to purchase.

Help greatly appreciated.

  • I'm sure you can snag some second hand ones on eBay or gumtree. These haven't been updated in years since 2012 (apart from newer colours) and still sell at the same RRP at Apple.

  • Yeap, the newest 7th generation is from 2012.

Apple has abandoned the iPod nano market (nobody buys them much anymore) so all the stock you see in the shops are close to being 2, sometimes 3 years old.

As much as I like my iPod nano (which died after the charging contacts corroded and apple would not replace it for me) I find mobile phones do the job much better anyhow.

Apple charges $219 for an iPod nano that doesn't even play FLAC audio files without conversion. Also, where's the Wifi?

  • Sandisk Sansa Clip is a good cheap mp3 player if it doesnt have to be an ipod. $65 on ebay

    or just use a phone

    • Son loves apple. Abuses wifi privileges, so nano is perfect for him.
