    If any of you purchased Elite: Dangerous from the Frontier Store (the developers website), you can generate a Steam key and link your Account to Steam if you login to the Frontier website. That way you can just buy Horizons at a reduced price.

    You cannot give this Steam key to someone else to play, as you need to login to Elite Dangerous, and you'll only have one account.

      Argh my math!!! Also they just reduced the savings from 40% to 33%, I hadn't even bought it yet. Just writing this up… Damn it.

    Horizons arguably turns it into another game (as much difference as First Enc vs Frontier). The only thing I hate about this is that you do not get the landing computer (at least to begin with) and its the thing that everyone hated about the original Elite.

        It is since you're having to worry about eight directions (up, down, left, right, forward, back, clockwise roll and anti clockwise roll). Granted, the landing gaps are bigger than the original Elite and more forgiving, but still time consuming and pain.. should focus on other aspects of play. You'd think that they would have figured out a Landing computer n the 31st century given tech almost exists now.

      33% isn't it? It was 40% when I posted it and then moved to 33%, I guess when they thought it was too low.

      Its current price both Commander Deluxe Edition and Horizons are the cheapest available now. Before today, 33% has been the biggest discount.

      for me the point of buying the deluxe/goty is to get all contents and be done with it, no need to wait for further "complete" sale
      There's exceptions of course like Crusader Kings II, that game is more complicated than life itself.

        This isn't the Complete Edition or GotY edition though, its a Deluxe Edition and many games are released this way.
