New Audi Q3

Hello OZB,

I have been quoted $50k driveaway for Audi Q3 TFSI Sports (2.0 Petrol) with Metallic paint and Teknick package. Anyone found it cheaper than this price ?

Audi's are great. Just bought an A5, you'll love it!

    • enjoy the car

      • haha thanks. Good luck finding with yours. Had an Audi A3 before hand.

        Also, would you consider used?

You could save a lot of money:
        Heres an example:https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Audi-Q3-2012/SSE-AD-4685865/?Cr=4

        • thanks. would consider demo but not used. planning on getting car on novated lease and 3 years free servicing when taken on lease.

        • @rajy:
          get a better car.

I've got a Q3. Some fun repair cost examples. Strip of rubber that runs around the sunroof was damaged, $500 to replace. Replace two headlight globes, $1,400. Replace single front parking sensor, $800. They do wash my car though so I guess that's going for me.

Bloody Hell ! thats super expensive !

      Go Japs !

      • Yep, totally agree, get a Lexus :)

    • They are expensive but can those repairs be done elsewhere?

      • I'll attempt to in the future. I certainly don't service it at Audi, they charge double an average mechanics fees.

Q3 is rubbish and massively out dated
    buy a VW tiguan

  • I think you have to ask yourself do you really like the car for yourself or is it for show off thoughts because a person driving around in a 2017 Porsche looks rich but 3 years later he looks super duper poor and his business must be failing. conclusion -look at something better value for money

  • I have a Q5 2.0 TFSI

Its a great car, its drives great, interior is beautiful, the tecknik package makes it look good with the daytime LED. Almost everything about it is good.

The things I don't like pertain to price. It is expensive to buy and it is very expensive to maintain. I almost fell over when told it would cost a couple of grand to have all the brake pads changed and discs machined.

And the Perth Audi dealership are actually very good, they go out of their way to help and I've never had as good an experience with car servicing as with them.

Coupled with the fact that I don't put much value in badges, the Audi experience has been over priced for me. The lustre of driving an Audi wore off within a month. Then it became another car to me, but still one I felt I had to protect / keep safe. Every outing I park further away to be away from other cars.

  • isnt a Q3 a rebadged VW?

    • to some extent yes.
You'll find the engine and trany to be the same between the 2 cars. for eg. the 132 kw engine tiguan and q3. same same.

  • @rajy
Did you end up getting this?

I'm potentially considering a q3 also. The best I've been able to do is 2.0 Sport (132kw) (technik, assist pk, sunroof, heated seats, metal paint, black trim)
    54k

But reading mr fox's comments about repair costs is mind-boggling!

    • Not yet. I could get a TDi with teknik package for 48k, we could probably bargain for 2 cars ?

      • Not a bad idea :)
But I'm more leaning towards the new 162kw tiguan with the r-line pk. I saw one at a showroom today - it looks a beast!
Hard to pass up 6.5sec sprint time and all that new tech! But it is a bit pricier at the moment and there's a waiting line.

PM me on Tuesday, coming. I'll be deciding for sure, one way or the other.

        • How much for the Tiguan ?

        • @rajy: right now - it's 59k. DA. (with r-line and drive assist packs). But i'll be working as much magic as possible to bring that down in the next few days.
it's only 53 (something) without the packs.

  • I took an RS3 and it's been the most fun i've with my pants on, drove the RSQ3 and it was great i know it's a big step from what your looking at but they have been refined to such a great unit.

Check with the dealer if the company you or your partner work for have a corporate program that got me quite a bit off.

I've also learned to be patient and don't demand everything at once or it's all recorded at once.

You will be handed over to different people through the sales process - they don't handover notes and i got their new paint protection / coating that you basically wipe off most things, tinting etc. for nothing

This lack of handover allows you to get a chance at playing the game because i was getting all servicing etc plus a couple of other things

the other options like tinting etc. i said we had already agreed the car cost and based on being a corporate client, i'm just here to select what exactly i want as in the type of tint.

Picked everything i wanted and signed by then it was too late they were having a bit of a discussion about what they had just given away.

the nav pack is awesome especially if you have a lead foot / adjusts speed to that of the traffic so if you miss a speed change as long as the cars in front slow so will you. you can also engage it at traffic light or hills so your stopped without having to hold the break cooking your brake pads.

Also increases fuel efficiency dramatically max range i've had out of a tank letting it drive is 1300k's compared to an average of 550 or so.

other thing i took was the magnetic suspension part of the performance pack changes the car completely from luxury all day driver to weapon. or any custom set up you like.

I've found all the performance figures to be incorrect but i'm not complaining as they were all really more beneficial to me to the type of car

    i.e 0-100 4.1 actual 3.4 seconds no mods

top speed runs off the clock governed to 250 but i can turn that off which increases to 300k/ph and some of the ones i've been shown turning restrictor off have hit 360

  • Quite surprising no one's mentioned it yet, but a Toyota Camry would be perfectly suitable.
