50

Quite a few deals from ebgames today, but I think this one is the best.
Knocked down from $279.99 to $97.

The Bravely Default Collectors Edition is also a great pickup too. $97 down from $169.95

I feel like this is only perceived as a deal because of its price drop, but that would only be relevant if the RRP was worth it, which in my opinion is quite high for a game and a desk ornament.

    • Depends on the franchise really. With a mass produced CoD/BF statue, I'd say the RRPs are inflated 100% of the time. If you see a COD statue for sale for $150, It's going to be $29, three CoDs down the track.

With a Bethesda RPG that has a cult following and comes out as an official limited edition game tie in… It's hard to see them dropping significantly from the RRP. Reading all the ebay listings for this item, it appears there are only 750 of these released worldwide and they are numbered, which definitely adds value, at least to people interested in this kind of stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if most people buying this will be doing so for the long term flip.

  • Watch dogs 2 and dues ex collector's editions are also on sale again

I'm tempted to get this, I buy quite a few Collector's Editions of games - but $95 is still pretty steep in my opinion for the statue. Most other Collector's Editions come with extras such as Artbooks/Steelbooks and other knick-knacks too!

    • This statue is actually Gaming Heads Shrine of Julianos that cost 220 USD. It is actually a steal for it to sell at that price.

      • I think I may have seen it once in the flesh in a display case, but didn't take much notice because of the price tag. I might pop into my local EB on the way home and have a look at it closer. I've already got the game so I might be able to flog it to offset the cost (I love big statues :-P)

But is it worth that much?

        • I bought it for a friend once, quality is good. But if you don't like this statue you will never like it. The shrine itself is nothing special since it's just the shrine and nothing more

        • @Letrico:

Right, but you're saying that since it's initial cost was $220 USD, this is a good deal.

        • @cdestratis: Yea if you like it and like the statue, great deal. If not then not a loss.

$97 for a 6 year old game and a statue? Not a deal.

  • Got my Bravely Second Collector's edition today. Not sealed, in bad condition and the game + soundtrack were missing from the box. Pretty salty right now!

    • Oh man, not looking forward to my trip home now.

      • Yeah was pretty annoyed. That's a major oversight for whoever packed it. I thought, maybe the staff member (or another staff member) had put the game/disc in a draw or something - seeing as the seal had been broken, but that's an unlikely scenario.

Contacted EB on Facebook but they're going to see if they can source me a replacement. Don't like my chances as it's sold out online but we'll see. Worst-case scenario is I get my money back.

Everything else has arrived in mint condition though!

        • Just checked, mine isn't due until the 30th.. the same with my fire emblem… Quite annoyed.

        • @Cubist: Hopefully you get yours in new condition. EB Games couldn't source a replacement for mine nationwide (although they had mentioned in a previous message that they can't source from interstate/transfer stock, so they're probably just bullshitting me). The best they could do is offer me a copy of the game and $20 gift card to 'compensate' for the missing Soundtrack. Not a great outcome, but it's either that or return it - which I'd rather not do.

This is probably my first bad experience with EB Games and I'm on like 18,000 carrots now, but the fact that the game got sent to me in that condition in the first place really discourages me from purchasing any other limited or collector's editions online. I might stick to in-store purchases from now on.

        • @Kugz: Came through yesterday. It was… okay. The box was in very average condition, but the insides are in tact. Going to look at ways to clean the box, don't want to damage it any worse. Definitely not what I think of when I think "new" condition.

        • @Cubist: Yeah it looks like it was old stock or something. Pretty disappointing, first time I've ever gotten something in shitty condition (and missing parts!). Will be hesitant on buying older collector's editions of games from now on.
