What Is The Best Price You Have on Your Internet/Home Phone and Foxtel Bundle?

Hi,

I'm trying to reduce my costs.. like we all are on here. My current bundle is with Telstra:
- $70pm for cable internet (100gb usage) and home phone (but need to pay extra for phone calls)
- $75pm foxtel (including entertainment, sports and movies)

This bundle is on a contract till September 2018.

I also have mobile phones with them:
- 2 x $30pm plans ($1000 calls + text, 5gb data) off contract
- 1 x tablet plan $20pm (3GB data, pay extra for sms) on contract till September 2018

My service with telstra have been poor.. i've recently had constant drop outs and outages, especially since february. They promised me credit to my bill.. but i never received it.. up until now ($145 credit rolls eyes). They had somebody come out to my house from technical support and they upgraded the modem. I've spent multiple hours on the phone.. tonight i was just short of 3 hrs on the phone to them.. 2 weeks ago i was on the phone 2.5hrs. I have been asking to cancel my contract and just pay month by month.. but they tell me i will have a termination fee.. unless i go onto another bundle with them.

I asked for their best deal they could give me. They offered:
- $80pm for cable internet (500gb) and home phone (unlimited local and national calls to landlines and mobiles)
- $55pm Foxtel (including entertainment, sports and movies)
On a 24 months contract

Or i could go month to month but need to pay $120 and the Internet and home phone will be $90pm

My mobile phone plans would stay the same, unless i decide to jump ship to a cheaper carrier.

Has anybody been able to get better? I'm hesitant to stay with telstra because of the rubbish i've had to deal with, but it makes me wonder if all other telcos will be the same since telstra apparently provide the cables to other carriers. I need a better deal.. paying over $200pm seems ridiculous.. I'm sure there is a better ozbargainer way of doing things.

    Somehow my dad managed to get $100p/m for foxtel IQ2 platinum, 500gb cable and home phone combined. Apparently we get $100 credit p/m for no reason.

      Please find out how. I'm guessing thats with Telstra?

        Yeah with telstra. I don't think it's possible to even get close to our deal because it seems to be a glitch or something that they've never picked up. They even called us to try and better our plan but they said they couldn't beat it and hung up haha

          Haha.. well if your dad remembers if he asked for anything in particular for that plan to happen, please let me know. Sounds awesome!!

          I've actually been telling them i'm going to contact the TIO to get out of the contract to go on month to month plans because of the poor service and drop outs. I really don't feel like i should have put this many hours into phone calls for nothing to happen thus far. They charge for everything small that other telcos don't charge for!

          @kimba88: If u want to go TIO, remember to take note of everything to proof telstra can not fix the problem in time.

      Damn that's good!
      They stuffed up with mine too, I get 500gb with speed boost, foxtel entertainment + sports for $105

      $120PER MONTH FOR 24 MONTHS with 2000gb!

        No idea, it's just a rolling month-to-month plan now I believe which we can cancel at any time. Think it's really weird deal which they haven't picked up…
