Due to circumstances I have postponed the family trip to Hamilton Island, changed tickets and hotel booking. The result is that by 27th May 2017, this single day, we have no place to stay. We fly back to Sydney by 28th May.
One idea is to spend the night on Airlie beach - away from the island. But with a family of 5, the ferry to there and back to Hamilton Island will be worth $537, not even counting the hotel room price.
$537 is the price at which one can book the cheapest Yacht with 4 adult beds and a place for a toddler and it would provide more fun than just the bed for the night. So I think I should do that. But I looked around and most Yacht renting company require a 5-night minimum. Those who don't can't be booked online and promises to call back sometime (I requested call backs)
The ask is either to find a place to stay or to find a Yacht that can be rented for a single night. Can you give an idea?
Did you check Air BNB ? Hamilton Island has more accommodation than just the main hotel.
