Good LED Mini Torchlight?

Hi all, looking for a really good LED torchlight for occasional night camping etc. I need something pocket size, and has the ability to zoom far. Bought one CREE type LED one from one of the thread, really good but lost it :(

There're too many around upon goggling, and unsure of which brand to trust. Don't mind spend a bit on a reputable brand.

Budget around $20 will be good

Thanks!

  • Budget?

    • Think I bought last one around $10. No more than $20 preferably

      • +3
        • This is the classic one that you probably had before. Mind you, you can even find it for cheaper, do some research.
        • I have this one for my bike. Not too fancy, but it does the job.
        • This one is fabulous for AAA.
        • And finally, although it doesn't zoom and it's way over your budget, this one. But goddamn, it's pretty pretty good.
        • How fast you get stuff from bangood? I don't wanna wait months like gearbest etc

          Also, they're all genuine brand?

        • @Droid11: I never had any problems with them, and I certainly did with GB. It's not local stock, so I would be surprised if it'll show up in under three weeks. If you need it fast, check eBay for a local seller (just be careful of all the "Darwin" sellers, these are based in HKG or China).

        • @BargainCowboy: The MECO one is not CREE LED though. Big deal though?

        • @Droid11: Mmm, the title said Cree but I see what you mean. Well, their projected lumens is a joke anyway, no way this thing is doing 500. This one is definitely a Cree though (XM-L2). Fits your budget too.
I have those cheap MECO ones everywhere - one in the car, one in the garage, one in the drawer, one in my backpack, they're so cheap and useful that you can get 3-4 and they don't have to be super reliable.

        • @BargainCowboy: actually wouldn't mind a waterproof XM-L2 one with winter coming up. Any recommendation?

        • @Droid11: They claim the Convoy-C8 is IPX8. Notice that it takes a 18650 battery and the cool white version is under restocking until May 30th. Obviously it's not zoomable, not sure if that's even possible with waterproofing. It's also XP-L. You can read about the differences between the two here.

        • @BargainCowboy: Aiks, then I'd rather not have waterproof, I need the zoom function more for fishing etc .

        • @Droid11: I'm sure there are a few, but you just have to narrow down the search. Unfortunately, BG doesn't have the option to filter results by degree of waterproofing but it does by zoomable or not.

  • Not a torch, but I have one of them USB LED lights from Xiaomi. Just stick it into a USB power-bank and there's light all around. Doesn't focus though. Link here

I use it as a alternative to a lantern which is great. Lasts a long time depending on your powerbank. Has 5 different toggles of light strength.

    • dude..I need for camping man…that ain't gonna cut it, bedtime reading yes I guess..

  • Man, so many fake XML emitter led out there… Any chance we could verify it's genuine cree led?

  • camping? i take my 4 D cell maglite, you never know when you need it…. or when you really need it.

  • Anyone know how to source brands which use genuine CREE emitter? Which brands are reputable? So many fake ones out there!
