I'm surprised the prices of the S7 haven't fallen much since the S8 has been released.

    • +3

      Me too, it's still high.

    • They do have occasional sales….last I remember was for $520 from Vaya….I am waiting for another sale myself to buy an S7….

      • $520 is awesome

        • +2

But mind you it wasn't Australian Stock….and I don't mind Grey market because I root them that makes them warranty void anyways….

    • Samsung seem to be following Apple's trend with price value.

    • Especially the Edge.

  • +7

I'm surprised that you posted a Kogan Samsung S7 Edge deal when you negged the last deal and suggested that there are cheaper retailers.

    • -3

      This is Aussie stock.

        SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 32GB SM-G930 4G LTE FACTORY UNLOCKED PHONE OZ WTY (ebay.com.au) $559 Posted + extra 5% off with code C5OZ = ~ $531

Also Aussie retailer so perhaps you can ask them for GST to be included on invoice if your travelling overseas to get your GST refunded

Someone replied that it might be the USA model with no official Aussie warranty

Not sure if that's G930F which is the international version. Don't buy USA versions

        • where can I find this deal? do you know if they also have the s7 Edge?

        • Was this grey stock or genuine also why is it bad to buy USA versions?

      • -1

        Hypocrite

        • Is that really enough reason to call sb hypocrite man?

  • +1

Considering it's OZ stock, then office-works can do a price beat then!

    • +2

I tried Harvey Norman but they said no because kogan don't have retail stores.

    • +1

Tried very hard to do this. Basically no luck yet. Not many stores actually stock the S7 anymore, and the ones that do only have black (I rang numerous, and also got them to check). Price beat has to be exact same colour. They will give you the run around saying we don't price match Kogan, but just ask for John from the 1300 OFFICE phone number (he is the only John in the Sydney call centre) - he approved it for me. I'm going to ring up tomorrow and try get him to do the deal. I didn't want Kogan one as it says it's branded with telstra so will have bloatware etc.

      • Thanks for the info timmsy23. I too tried to have OW pricematch but they wouldn't do it citing dodgy ads etc.

Mind explaining what you mean when you say John approved it? If its been approved why do you need to call again and do the deal?

        Cheers,

        • +1

If you don't want them see the telstra branding you could use the dicksmith site for your price match. Same price but no mention of the telstra branding.

        • He approved it and then transferred me through directly to a store that had stock , at which point the store didn't believe me and they rang themself. After the store rang me back, I got the usual line from the manager saying we don't price match with Kogan. He mentioned you can order it over the phone (I didn't know this) and get it collected.

        • +1

          @timmsy23:

Rang up again - talked to the manager (Shami was her name), they would have done it for $664 if they had stock of gold or silver, but they are on clearance (none in QLD - might have luck in other states. They do NOT ship interstate though..). They only have black which dick smith and kogan don't do for $699.. cheapest I could find is $788 from MobileCiti so you could get this for $748.60 with Office Works lowest price guarentee of 5% off. Still too expensive for a phone that is a year old I rekon..

Tempted to just get it from dick smith or kogan, but both actually say there is telco branding :-(

I'm definitely getting AU stock as I'll be claiming GST back with tourist refund scheme

        • @timmsy23:
Alright. Thanks for the update. Will give it a shot over here in WA. Fingers crossed!

          Cheers.

        • @timmsy23:

Had another look at the kogan ad. The S7E says nothing about telco branding like the s7. Might but the bullet with the edge and hope its unbranded.

  • Bought for $550 dual sim samsung s7 from eBay Hong Kong seller. 5% eBay coupon.Received yesterday via DHL EXPRESS. Ready to flash

    • Flashing will void your warantee.

      • Not necessarily….but even if it does, it shouldn't matter since you have bought it cheap….

      • If it was from Hong Kong he wouldn't even have Samsung warranty since it's not Aus stock.

    • I wanna buy dual version as well, could you please confirm Sim 2 can do 3G. Thanks

  • +1

does anybody know if they will be providing an invoice with GST given this is aus stock and all?

    • +1

I got an invoice yep. GST was $0?

  • They have been this price for a few weeks now, I've been watching these hoping for a bit better price or discount code.

    • Have you been only looking for Aussie stock? I am looking for an S7 as well but wanting them to go cheaper than $500 atleast and I don't mind Grey Import….

      • Aust stock would be nice but not important. I'm the same with price, would like to pay $500 for grey or $600 for aust stock. Only interested in the edge.

        • $500 for Edge? That sounds bit hard but lets keep an eye out…

        • I know I'm dreaming just little :D

        • What do grey market S7's not have that aus stock has? Is it only the warranty?

        • Warranty. Samsung Australia won't touch it if its an import even if you are willing to pay.

      • You won't get it lower than 7 in the next few months, good luck though.

        • Had already been lower, $680 for Aus stock if I remember correctly

  • Further discounts with kogan gift card.

    • How to have gift card?

      • Pls turn on your pm.

      • check classified.

  • I picked one up, I'll let you know once I've played with it a few days

  • Don't forget to buy a Kogan voucher from the classifieds to get a further discount ^cough^

    • How much does it come down to after the Kogan voucher?

      • +1

Kogan voucher gives a further $20 off $100+ purchase.

        • Thanks….

  • Has anyone bought one? Are they Telstra/Optus/Vodafone branded?

  • Anyone asked the good guys if they will price match?

    • Doubt it will work. Goodguys specifically list the competitors they will pricebeat - Kogan isn't one of them :(.

      • Correct, rang them up as well. Lowest they'd go is $898.

  • I got one of these deals and the phone (S7 Edge) arrived today.

The seal on the box was broken but apparently this is not unusual when being shipped from overseas.

The real issue I"m having is the phone does not power up. I've charged the phone for approximately 2 hours, I've also held the power button down for 10 seconds and I've even attempted a hardware power cycle (hold down the "down volume" button + power button for >10 sec) but this too has failed to start the phone.

When I was charging the phone I did notice the handset was getting slightly warm which to me suggest the battery was being charged.

So now I'm wondering what are my best options. I'm thinking of just returning it and repurchasing from another store. I can usually wait for another deal to appear but I'd prefer to purchase a phone before the end of the financial year which is not that far away.

I've emailed Kogan and currently waiting on a reply.

    Any suggestions?
    John.
