Improve human health and prevent disease

I don't think I've seen that much bullsh*t within a chinese product before.

    • +3

No but Tim Cook did claim that an Apple smartwatch literally saved the life of a high school student due to it's health tracking so they've got a ways to go yet before they've caught up to the West when it comes to spreading bullshit.

  • No need to charge and waterproof

If I can copy my office door swipe card to this ring that would be fantastic.

I had to get one after finding out it had the feature "Health module: Remove infrared ray and adjust body function by the FIR Energy Stone and the volcano magnet."

  • How the ring containing circuit in it is supposed to stop electromagnetic waves? Hard to digest…..

  • as far as i know, leEco will be going bankrupt soon. This will probably be their last model.

    • They're pulling out of the US. They're still going strong in China.

[Chinese tech conglomerate LeEco is in talks to sell a prized property asset in the heart of Beijing it acquired in a $420 million deal last year, the latest effort by the electric car-to-smartphone behemoth to raise funds amid a severe cash crunch.

In February LeEco's sports unit also lost the television rights to the Asian Football Confederation matches, after reports that it had fallen behind on payments. The firm said then it had "let down" its users.

LeEco has also cut staff in China, the United States and India. Local media said it was scaling back plans in Russia.]

I wouldn't call selling prize assets, problems with core TV business and cutting staff in China as going strong.

But this is a bit off topic, just helping buyers make an more informed choice that their handset may not be supported in the near future.

        Great deals though thanks.

  • I have a staff ID for accessing certain doors at work… can anyone confirm if this would be capable of cloning that?
I've got a Galaxy S7.. and I've tried using my phones NFC to replicate my card but to no success. I assumed security features would be the reason.. so would this ring be any different?

Wouldn't it be too easy if you could simply clone an access card just by scanning it?

    Any info is appreciated !

    • I suspect it will struggle with most access cards that are security enabled…. But on the plus side, you can pick up chicks with these sorts of rings apparently https://youtu.be/pkekjxR0-Io

More info on how it might work is here: http://www.jakcom.com/ins/R3/JAKCOM_R3.html

Personally I'd assume it won't work, so if it does then it's a pleasant surprise. I am however looking forward to my “Krebs Cycle” being improved.

    • OK - for what it's worth I now have an RFID reader/writer purchased off eBay (had put a link in previous comment but it was removed completely as apparently it was deemed an affiliate link? Whatever.)

So the one I got can read normal and encrypted cards - although to do encryption you need to plug it into a PC via usb and run a windows application (included on the reader itself - mounts as a drive and can install from there if you trust 'em) to decrypt. In theory it can then write the info to the ring. Will see how it goes when the ring arrives - I actually ordered two (different sizes, one standard shipping one 'Australian direct') and neither are here yet….. sigh…

      • oh wow. Please do keep me updated if this works. This would save me so much trouble everyday…

Well, the ring arrived today. First impressions:
          * It's light
          * It's fairly thick & wide so unlikely to suit smaller hands
          * It appears well made, but jury is out as to how well it will last - ie it is highly polished, but I don't know if it will resist scratches
          * The ID/NFC/M1 markings are quite faint… there are small bumps inside the ring where each chip is, so if you used this a bit it might become more second nature where each "card" is stored when you need to use it (ie it goes big space, then M1 bump, then ID bump, then NFC bump)
          * I copied a standard HID card and wrote it to the ring without any major issue other than finding the right spot to put the ring

I haven't tried an encrypted card yet, nor have I actually been able to test the one I have copied (other than via my reader) - but my expectation is it should definitely work at least with the unencrypted card. The main issue/concern I have with it? Well, most cards have a fairly decent sized antenna. Even the small keyfob jobs have a bigger antenna than this could possibly have. It might be able to use part of your hand as an antenna but I reckon the end result is you are likely to have to be very precise in how you hold the ring up to a reader or get used to having to tap it a few times before it works.

So all in all I've found this to be an interesting experiment. I now know that it is incredibly easy to copy a card. I also know that although my body function is unlikely to be impacted by the FIR Energy Stone and the volcano magnet, this ring can actually be written to so it mimics an existing card. Like I say some encrypted cards and in particular ones that may also have inbuilt memory to store data (eg Opal/Myki/Octopus cards) will almost certainly not work, but less smart cards will probably be fine. It also can only store one type of card at a time eg if you have two HID cards, then you have to choose which one to copy and/or have more than one ring.

        • @PlasticSpaceman:

Ahhh fair enough. This is very interesting indeed… still in limbo on whether or to get one, but if encrypted mimicing works, ill probs jump in too :D

  • Any reviews on the phone ?

    • Here's one. NO EARPHONE JACK !!!! Booooo… No Deal.

  • Adreno 510 has 180 GFLOPS, more than enough for 1920x1080 - great.

$usd129.99 in aud = $174.38 (by google exchange rates)

I was wondering what came after smartwatches - smartrings! What's after that?
It'll never replace the desktop though.

  • Bought the le 2 using Paypal. Paypal forced currency converter even though I chose to pay in seller's currency option. I even changed it to used seller currency in the Paypal settings. After this transaction I think I'll close Paypal account. (profanity) Paypal!!

  • Watch out with this crew. I recently bought the Tronsmart encore Bluetooth earphones being flogged via 'Clear' and whilst they arrived quite quickly they turned out to have half the advertised battery charge and when raising a ticket Geekbuying stated they already knew this was an issue! Why sell em then? They offered a full refund but seeing as it would cost me approx $21 to return it would be useless to me. Shoddy.

    • Happy to get something sorted if you send me your order number.
