Rental Repair Question/Response..help!

Hi guys, wondering if you can help me with my slight issue.

I'm renting at the moment and both the rental manager and landlord (owner) are real dip sticks.

The silver drawing cord of the blind in the bedroom as broken off leaving me to manually draw the blind up and down everyday..using some force.

I emailed the agent today telling him as i was drawing the blind down it just broke off…assuming to wear and tear. He has written back saying the owner wants to know why it broke off and if it's due to miss use they will not pay for the repair. I mean what misuse..there is only one purpose of the drawing cord! I'm not sure what to write in response. Appreciate your help. Cheers

    Dear Real Estate Agent,

well, actually I was so depressed from living in such a sh!t hole with such an arrogant rental agent that I decided to hang myself.

p.s. or it might have been when I was using the cord to open the blind and it simply broke because that is what happens with wear and tear from daily usage of something that is made from a fabric.

  • Lol lol there is another use for it :p

  • Bits like that are dirt cheap. Just replace it and the massive drama is fixed.

  • take a photo of what broke and post it here. you'll be given a simple solution.

  • Thanks guys for your help. i could buy it and fix it but because both are asses then the owner can fix it. The chain has completely fallen off thats the crunch ofbthe issue.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Three lefts do.

  • Oh man, I am so glad I am off the rental treadmill - and I, basically, had good landlords and agents. We own our own place and if something is broken we just fix it. If we want to get a couple of cats we just adopt them, if we want to renovate the place we find the money and fight the council. There is absolutely no way I want to be young again - unless I can take my current circumstances with me. The advantage of being older is, if you have managed your circumstances well, the "screw you society" factor is higher.
