ALDI Special Buy Scaffold and Ladder System

Just browsing their next special buys, I noticed this basic ladder thing very reminiscent of stuff you see on shopping channels - although I can see it's not the same as that Renovator one either.

Looks like it might be useful for things like gutter cleaning compared to my existing typical A-frame ladder but I could just be thinking crap up.

  1. anyone have something like this comment on their actual practicality? (esp vs a typical household A-frame)

  2. does Bunnings have an equivalent product? Since they usually will drop the price to match it.

  • It looks like it would be very fiddly to use.
I have one of the multi-fold ladders and that's pretty fiddly, but at least it's all one piece!
The pictures aren't clear enough to determine how the 2 ladder pieces are locked together to make a stepladder or extension ladder, buit the fact there must be some sort of clip system used makes it sound fiddly.

The wide top and base would be more annoying then useful for my purposes.
It would be useful for stability if you were using it as scaffolding I guess, but annoying if you wanted a ladder to get into a manhole, or even just as a general purpose ladder.

And the description says it is of Aluminium and Wood Construction.. I can't see the wood.

  • Yeah I saw the wood bit. "Ummmm"
Probably just a platform plank of wood.

  • We bought the Gorilla one from Bunnings which is about double this price but it is very sturdy and adjustable. Maybe you should look at both of them and see how they stack up.

Bunnings won't price match unless you have exactly the same product, including model number which is how they get around some of the "price matching". They have products that are only made for them by some manufacturers.

  • One of the good things about Aldi is they are close to online pricing, but you can go and check it out yourself. You might be able to see how it works and how well it is built in store before buying.

  • If you don't need the scaffold part then bunnings has a multi fold ladder that's 3.7m for $99 https://www.bunnings.com.au/syneco-3-7m-120kg-aluminium-mult…

They also have it in a "cool" black and green colour for $109. Make sure you don't buy the cheaper shorter one though as you need 3.7m to get to the roof on most properties.
