The global variant of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is currently on sale for just $584.40 at GearBest. The phone debuted at the end of last year, and is the first Xiaomi handset to offer global LTE bands. It has 37 LTE bands in total, and is compatible with most GSM networks around the world, including Australia.

Here's the breakdown of the Australian LTE bands supported by the Mi Note 2:

GSM (2G): 850/900/1800/1900MHz
CDMA 1X: B0/1/10/15
WCDMA (3G): B1/2/4/5/8
TD-SCDMA: B34/39
LTE-FDD (4G): B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30
LTE-TDD (4G): B38/39/40/41

Global LTE support isn't the only thing going in its favor — the Mi Note 2 offers a 5.7-inch Full HD dual curved display, and is powered by a 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC. There's 6GB of RAM, 128GB storage, a 22.5MP camera at the back with 4K video recording, 8MP front shooter, Wi-Fi ac, USB-C, NFC, and a 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.

Happy shopping!!

  • so 4GB of RAM or 6? Title/description different

    • +1

      it's 4G network not 4GB

    • 6GB of RAM mate.
Interesting to know if this has a decent selection of custom ROMs.

      • Unlikely, it's still too new

  • Anyone using this phone willing to provide some review. Very interested but unsure for now.

    • says it has band 28 in the title …….with the right optus plan could be netflix on the train.

      LTE-FDD (4G): B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30

  • tempting

  • +4

I'd so buy this if there was a device with the same specifications but in a smaller 5.2 inch body.

  • A bit pricey.

Are the curved edges for aesthetics or do they have functions?

    • +5

Mostly aesthetics and ergonomics. The curve is not as extreme as the ones found on Galaxy Edge phones

One thing for sure is that curved displays are making it harder to put on a screen protector.

      • +1

You're not wrong about that. They keep peeling off from the edges. It doesn't stick. Dust gets under it.

  • +2

Not the first Xiaomi phone with international bands - The Redmi Note 3 Pro (Kate) has been around for almost a year now.

    • +2

That'd be because Kate was a special edition for Taiwan and not a true International edition.

  • So waiting in a Mi5s Plus deal :-)

Soon as there's a good one I'll be buying it

  • No SD835… in couple of months, i'd expect SD82x phones to go markedly down in price.

  • Wonder how fast is the camera focus on this. Wife needs a new phone to upgrade from a Z3.

  • Expired code. Now $519.99 USD
