Contact Lens Solution recommendations

Hello All,

I've been using contact lenses for about 5 years .. around twice per week. I have only ever used daily disposables.
Now I am about to use monthly lenses and I would appreciated some recommendations on what solution to use.
From what I can tell, there seems to be a few main types: multipurpose, hydrogen peroxide, and saline.
What do you folks use, and what brand of solution? Is one particular type easier to work with than the other?

Many Thanks!

  • Renu multipurpose

  • What's wrong with the daily ones? The cleaning solutions are not supposed to be kept for long after opening.

    • The longer term contacts are better value for money when using contacts more regularly. (I do like the convenience of dailies though).

  • thanks for the recommendations folks

  • Check out the staining chart and look at your lens type: http://www.staininggrid.com/

    • Thanks, but how relevant is that information now? The data is over 6 years old, and the sample size for each intersect is not significant. Also, searches for corneal staining do not seem to bring up a huge amount of relevant matches.

  • +1

Used to use Renu but after I changed from B&L lens I've switched to Reclens: http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/53576/Reclens-Multi-P… used to be $11 but still the cheapest solution I've seen in store been using it for 3 years without issue.
