If you/the ladies in your life are into Lululemon they have products in Canada that you can't get here. It's a bit cheaper than AUS, but the exchange rate isn't as good as it has been in previous years.

    maple syrup

    • +1 for this. There isn't much to buy these days from anywhere overseas. You can get most things online or in store here. Local produce is the way to go. Good maple syrup will be expensive everywhere though.

      • Get your maple syrup from a supermarket and avoid those tourist shops

        • Agreed. However the really primo stuff is really expensive regardless of where you get it.

Poutine, Tim bits, double double coffee, street hotdogs, creemore springs lager.

    • All dressed chips.

      • Or ketchup flavour too.

Food: Beaver tails. Poutine. Tim bits.

Also lady speed stick deodorants have the most amazing range of scents. (Get from Shoppers Drug Mart)

Eaton Centre is great for shopping.

Do you want a list of things to do as well, or is this just a shopping trip?

    • Ofcourse I wouldnt mind a list of interesting things to do

Go to the baseball, spend time on the island. Day trip to Niagara falls, go up the CN tower, try some ice wine.

        • 100% all those things. ^

Check out the distillery district. Go to the Kensington markets. If you're going in summer, visit the Toronto islands.

There's a theme park not far from the city too.

  • An ice hockey stick

    • Painful to bring back on the plane though.

  • Canada's wonderland. That is the theme park which is a great all day adventure. Drink some Sleemans beer which is quite tasty and hit up a bar and get a jug of beer to wash down some wings.

Also pop into an Arbys and get a roast beef sandwich along with curly fries. Yum!! Miss Arbys.

Horseshoe tavern which has been around forever is a great visit on queen and spadina. Plenty of other bars and such in that general area. Well that was a long time ago so not sure what is there now.

  • Roots is expensive but their clothes are really great quality and they also have some leather ware. There are not many "Canadian products" other than the stereotypical maple syrup & iced wine.

Toronto is full of great food, you can get pretty much any type of international ethnic food. Caribbean food is popular. Lots of diners too for greasy brekkies that aren't typical in Oz.
