Weber Q2200 - Ever on Sale

I'm looking to purchase a Weber Q2200 (LPG), but as far as I can see they're only available from specialty weber retailers and also don't seem to go on sale.
Is there any point in waiting and hoping for a sale or should I just try and get a discount on a bundle of things? $439 seems to be the going rate for it.

DJ is selling at $386 at the moment, you can even take advantage of the Amex deal to get further discount.

Alternatively, Kogan is selling at $379 excluding delivery fee.

That's the inferior 2000 model. The 2200 is rarely on sale as it's only stocked by Weber specialist dealers. I had to bite the bullet and pay full price for a 2200.

      • Yep, that seems to be the issue. Q2000 is cheaper and seems to actually go on sale, but not the Q2200. You reckon the bigger hood and thermometer are worth the extra $40-$50?
I don't do a lot of roasting now, but maybe if I had a BBQ that I could roast with I would…
Looks like Amex offer expired last week, but DJs deal seems pretty good for the Q2000.

        • The ignition is also electronic, much better when starting from cold as you can hold it on for several seconds if need be.
I never roasted much either til I got my Q2200……

Sometimes Weber run specials like a free cover, or accessories. Check out their facebook page, or your local specialty dealer. I got a free cover and 10% off accessories I bought with it. Else wait for the Myer sales and they have 20% off Weber stuff to get your accessories.

    • Yep, wrong model, although the DJs deal is very good for that model! Kogan's shipping is $39 to my postcode, so that kind of kills that one.

  • Seems to be like buying a Miele or Asko - think Weber controls the price on these particular models!…….Definitely buy it though!

  • They are usually not on sale or at least not advertised for a lower price. You could try negotiating. some independent retailers usually throw in free stuff or do a package deal etc.

    Considered a Ziggler and Brown?

Much better for open lid cooking.

Probably are, given the Weber is designed to cook with the lid down….. else you'd just go buy an ordinary open BBQ

    also looking for a Webber

  • Bought one 2 months ago from a specialist dealer who wouldn't budge on price.
But they gave me discounts on accessories, but not as much as what you could get the accessories for from a TGG ebay 20% sale.

Very happy with the purchase so far and would recommend it.

    • Hmm… I am planning a trip there in a few months… Bloody Australia tax.
I wonder how much an onshipper would charge (checked - around $200).

      • Check it in, it's only 16kg
Most flights give you 2 x23kg
The Australian franchisee sets the price on these ones
I prefer the Weber trolley BBQs myself, if cooking with gas.

  • Ended up buying it from outdoor living. They offered 10% off all accessories (now and in the future), and threw in a free roasting kit worth around $40. Not too bad…
