OHH, I SEe GTX!! G T X 4 gigs is enough for all games people play even online with zero pings delay from router and modem NBN networking.

extra10 yeah yeah. I like it

    • GTX 1050
will play games OK on a 1080p screen

      • Depends on the game, should be okay for your average game though just not your Witcher 3 etc. etc.

    • you forgot the /s

      Its a GTX 1050 Ti
The Ti gives it a bit of a boost over the GTX 1050 found in the XPS 15

      Profound.

  • Fantastic deal

  • Good deal, considering getting a mid-tier gaming laptop. I'm comparing this and the lenovo E570P currently on sale at $1599, but with 7% cashreward it comes to $1487.07. Almost identical spec except Lenovo is 1050Ti 2gb but with IPS screen. Not sure if the Dell is IPS screen?

Can anyone comment on the performance for gaming between 2gb vs 4gb 1050TI and the IPS vs LED screen?

    Thanks

based on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/297206, it seems that the actual screen on this is pretty crap - you're better off with connecting it to a better monitor. Do you have a link for the lenovo? who has better ram as well is what i'd like to look at.

Spec wise think you're better off with the Dell, if you really hate the screen on the Dell could easily change it for about 100-150 from eBay you can get a decent quality LG IPS panel, memory on graphics card is quite important 2GB vs 4GB I think there will be some bottlenecking with 2GB anything above 4GB would be pointless as the graphics processor can't handle higher texture or resolution anyways, you also lose out on ram 8GB vs 16GB and CPU as well with Dell having the i7 and Lenovo with the i5. You might be spending about 200-250 more with the Dell after screen upgrade but with upgraded spec and more SSD storage it is a win

Thanks, you answered my primary issue with graphics at only 2gb. But as for other, my mistake the link didn't came out right. I was referring to this variant of the E570P

        http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/deals/current-offers/laptops-fo…

It has 16gb memory, 256ssd and 1TB hd. Therefore the spec is almost identical and very similarly priced with the difference being graphic card memory size and screen.

LAs you suggested I think I'll go with the Dell given the size of the graphic card memory can't be changed but I can always hook up to a better screen.

        Thanks again!

        • Did you get it mate? I just ordered mine - thanks OP. Just added the 3 year extended warranty, paid price is $1,628.10 - no mention yet from cashrewards, getting worried now that it didn't track, but I should wait first - no order confirmation yet, ordered about an hour ago. If you did get it and used cashrewards, how much was the cashback?

  • Does cashback work based on the rrp, or the final price you paid? If final, then this is $1452.65 after the 5% cashback. And even less if you claim TRS on it!

    • Cashback will be done on the advertised price (before any discount codes applied).

Edit: So in this case, it would be calculated at the $1699 price.

Edit again: Actually, the cart lists at $1999 with $300 discount and then 10% more discount. So the Cashrewards might actually be calculated at the $1999 in this case.

      • Woot. So final price of $1,444.15 after cashback. Plus I'm going overseas soon so I can claim TRS on it - this might be the bullet I'm going to bite!

  • Wow this is incredibly tempting, those specs are incredible, and 4k too

  • Can someone explain the 5% cashback? How does that work? I'm thinking about buying this…

    • Cashrewards site gives you all the info, plus reading what Sherwood wrote

  • Is it IPS panel?

    • No, it's a worse FHD screen but as ranma said above you can go on to Ebay to get a replacement IPS screen around 100-150.
