Separate Travel Insurance Vs Credit Card Cover

So I have travel insurance cover through my NAB Platinum card and used it to purchase flights which meets the minimum $500 spend BUT

does it really give sufficient cover compared to purchased policies?

Flight Centre had all these warnings when I was signing off on the purchase but I took that as the usual FUD to sell me theirs so ignored it. So now I want to make sure.

You'll have to read the PDS of your CCs policy. Each policy will differ, and even if someone used the one provided by your CC, it might have been updated since then.

  • As above. You need to invest some time to read the PDS of both policies and then decide

  • Thanks everyone. I sort of figured along the lines posted but wanted to tap into the collective mind of OzB too.

I have claimed previously under the price guarantee when I found a lower price and was successful so I know they are not terrible for insurance. ;)

Now I just have to hope with two insurance policies I don't get one playing me off against the other.

I guess my next question is on recommendations for travel insurance?
