Furphy Refreshing Ale Slab $39.98 + Bonus Beenie @ Thirsty Camel (Hump Club Members)

60

Don't usually see it for under $40.
An easy to drink ale that although no where near on par with some of the great APAs or IPAs, it is a good ale to drink while watching the footy especially at this price.

  • It's just a Furphy…

    I think there's good reason that it's on special…

Are the people on ratebeer legit? Apricot aroma, lemongrass finish, subtle citrus undertones.

      • Craft beer (profanity)…like wine, but with a beard.

I don't buy into the "mouth feel" and "finish" nonsense, but if the majority of people who at least seem to know what they're talking about (or pretend really well) say this stuff is sib par, I am inclined to believe them.

Better than Carlton and incidentally, it's cheaper.

It's also an ale, not a lager. I don't mind it… pretty good value tbh.

        • With beer you can appreciate the mouthfeel (level of carbonation and viscosity), and the finishing taste/bitterness.

        • @Fobsessive:

Do you idly twist your mustache & peer through horn-rimmed spectacles whilst contemplating the complexity of sensations the latest Rustic Chamomile Saison by Douchebag Brewery has on the palate?

Is this the beer equivalent of wine and food matching?

    • Craft beer to food matching is great too. Try a hoppy amber ale with tomato-based pasta!

  • I generally don't stray too far from larger, but I've had a few Furphy's and don't mind them. For $40 and a free beany, I'll take it
