OnePlus 5. Would You Buy One?

Would you buy OnePlus 5 when it's released? Why? Why not?

  • What specs would sway you towards or away from it?
  • What price would be acceptable?

I have Huawei ascend mate 7, which is becoming a bit slow, although the battery life is fantastic (two days of moderate use, and three days of light use).

  • No. Ever since I stopped playing games on a phone there has been no reason to upgrade for me.

Then I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and now I cannot justify buying flagship phones because phones like PC CPUs are at the point where adding more processing power doesn't significantly improve day to day use for me.

The Xiaomi works far better than a Sony Z5 Premium. The fingerprint reader just works every time. The software is intelligently designed which is no surprise given they slavishly copy iOS. I cannot say this about any other Android skin or Google Android Nexus/Pixel devices.

  • just brought a Moto zplay from ozbargain deal… price match with Harvey Norman and 50$ back on amex deal…

one plus 5 they reckon will be released in few weeks or months..
they seem to have the best specs and at reasonable price…
best specs was the case for few yes when Samsung struggled but s8 is fantastic but expensive..
I woukd recommend one plus if price is below 550aud

  • Maybe.. Had a OPO.. And been living with the OP2 for last 2 years which is little full now and occasionally laggy

  • OPO is still a killer, been using it since its release newer lag on me. OP2 was a let down. my next phone defo be OP5

  • Back when I was younger I liked the aspect of a fully spec'd phone. Now I've come to realise that I only use it for phone and text, and other logistical apps, but none of them are remotely processor intensive. I had a OPO before, but wouldn't bother getting a new one.
