Okay so i have an ANZ Platinum credit card which I've had for about 18 months. I've got approx 150k points. With the changes about to happen in August on this card I am shopping around for a new one. My question is, if I close this card will I still have access to use my points or they will be lost as soon as I close it? My annual fee is due in September so I will be closing it before then.

Only issue is I don't have anything to spend them on between now and when my annual fee is due … very annoying.
Get cashback towards paying the card off or change to velocity points. Its not a winning conversion though but its something.
I'm closing mine as well since I heard the changes to the Amex card. It was my main reason for having it.
You should of transferred them to velocity last month during the 50% bonus offer.
That would of been 112500 velocity points, which is a really nice business class return flight overseas with points to spare, or you could of sold them off.

Maybe try to hang on for the next transfer bonus offer. They happen about twice a year, but unfortunately you just missed a really good one.

When I closed my account I was told that I will have access to the rewards website for few days so I can use the points. However I preferred to use the points before calling them to avoid unwanted issues. I lost access to the ANZ website immediately. If I remember correctly I did have access to rewards page for few days. Hope this helps.
