  • The Denso's appear to be the best of the lot. I have an older 1993 car, old metal wiper blades. I'm curious if these lighter plastic ones would take load off the wiper motor and work better? The wipers are no where near as good as any modern car. Fine in heavy rain, jump and struggle on light rain regardless of the rubber/silicone blade inside.

    • Denso's are the heaviest of them all, considering it has a plastic covering the rubber but it delivers the best performance, but, if you are concerned about the wiper motor's strength to operate the wiper, then you best best bet is the Clear "frameless" wiper by Bosch.

      Cheers

      • Thanks for the reply, yeah actually in this car I'm more concerned about the motor's strength so I'll have a look at those Bosch ones which should lighten the load compared to the factory metal ones currently on the car.

    • I've been using these for a few years now, no idea what's in them but they make the wiper blades last for ages and also increase the wiping performance substantially. I used to go through a set of the same brand silicone blades every year, seriously after starting using these I've had the same set for three years now. Just last week I put one in an old ('89) Daihatsu where the relatively new rubber wipers were struggling to clear water effectively, holy crap it's like a miracle, they work like a new car.

      303 (230371) Instant Windshield Washer, 25 Tablet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FF76KM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GeNn…

      • I never would have thought a tablet would be any good but you can't argue with the feedback, might have to give it a go. I'm presuming you also bought it from Amazon? Bugger, I just had 2 big Amazon orders arrive last week :P

        • Yeah Amazon, I just add a container to other orders, usually doesn't increase postage. My friend keeps complaining I have pink wipers on my car, they were originally red. I keep saying they'll wear out eventually and I'll replace with the nice green ones I bought two years ago, lol.

        • @ghostknife:

LOL. My blades are pink (originally red) too. Those silicone blades never die. I don't drive my car daily so I've had them on for awhile. They've almost past pink and going white now actually.

Speaking of this topic, SCA just started a sale today.

  • OP what's the best option to replace the OEM wipers in 2014 Mazda 3 MAxx

    • Hi,

The Denso's our current favourite, you can use the 22 and 18 of the Denso according to our database.

      Cheers

  • +1

Just put a little washing up liquid in your sprayer bottle if it works and clean the windshield when it rains , that will make it easier on everything

    • I've been using Bug Off (Got a 5L bottle from Supercheap for $2 a few years back thanks to OzBargain!) but I'm not sure if it helps the gliding process. I've since started to investigate this, there are lots of different things ones can use. Interesting, never gave this any thought before now.

  • Op, what would be best suitable to replace 2015 polo gti wiper? Thanks

  • What size for a Toyota Camry 2009? Preferably the Denso's

    Cheers

    • Hi,

There are 2 size combinations for the Camry that i can find here in my database, reason for that, is that, different month produced camry sometimes came with different size combinations, so its either 24/20 or 22/19.

      Cheers.
