DIY Garage door repair - centurion make sectional panel door type

hi all

Please need guidance on the garage door repair made by Centurion sectional garage door (with motor)..

Last weekend accidentally I bumped my car into the garage while reversing. Although car has small scratches on bumper but garage door has incurred minor damage too. There are no scratches outside but inside the door the hinge on one side got broken and roller might be bend but fully functional. The door is manufactured by centurion garage (automatic) door with four sectional panel door for a single car type. There are no cosmetic damages on outside.

This is my rented place (newly constructed house but more than 18 months old as per the date on the garage door installation, not a old Queenslander house) and i live in Brisbane. My question can i do can i do the repair myself or is it needed special tools or is it difficult and need a tradie person to repair. I'm on tight budget as car is recent purchase and don't mind getting my hands dirty if it can be done by myself. I don't see any you tube videos specific to this model. The garage door is working normally but want to make sure to restore to original shape.

Also where can i get the spares. I could not find that info on the company website.

Or if it needs service technician who does it for economical price.

Appreciate your inputs.

  • Parts are usually generic, remove the hinge with the door in the closed position and the power point off and take it too "Pro Doors" Unit 3 1 Herbert St, Slacks Creek QLD 4127 it's an easy repair for the home handyman.

PS. Don't forget to take the car out first ;)

  • So you need a hinge and a roller?

Is there a number on the hinge? As nocure says, parts are usually generic.

  • Thanks nocour and steptoe.

From the pic it is similar to hinge 2. But the problem i'm facing now is i called a store which was mentioned in the centruion website as dealer and asked for the part, they checked and they could not have stock of it and saying it was old part and connected with centurion person. He is saying it is very complicated to do by myself as they are springs to be detached from the sectional doors and need a technician which is costing a bomb compared to the spares. I felt he tried to scare me so i can arrange for technician. Also I called for spare and they are more interested in selling the service of needed maintenance. We use the garage door only twice in a week and also keep the things very clean and door was installed only a 18 months back.

So i can't find any instructional video to gauge how complicated before calling technician. If I see once i know how to repair in the same manner without any problem.

    Door looks like this.
