Do you need a license to ride this to work?

No, just big cojones to endure the ribbing that you'll inevitably get.

    Ozbargain jr. bikies playdate..

  • They looked a bit flimsy In store

    • Really? So not worth it even at this price?

  • Probably would be ok they were originally $199
Kids couldn't try it out as battery wasn't charged

my son who is now 10 years old used to have a similar product, he was 4, his was a trike.
They are for small children …. smaller than some people have and still push around in strollers (you know the ones ….. just started high school).
They don't go fast enough to balance on 2 wheels hence are made as cars, trikes, or vespa with training wheels…. all have similar cordless drill type motors in them, and a gel/lead acid battery.

better investment was a good bike with training wheels and then teaching to ride without training wheels ……

No you wont't get 5km in distance out of one of these ……. they slow down as the battery runs down.

It's a pain going out for a walk, and if the battery runs down on the way home you have to carry it while your kid walks….. or take spare battery and screw driver.

If you try it in store on charged battery , remember the battery will run down ….. this isn't a tesla.

No, you won't go for a 5 km walk while your kid rides it home ….. the battery will be dead way before then.

that is why you see them on the side of the street at hard waste collection days.

I considered selling ours on eBay but the risk of negative feedback wasn't worth it.

    • No, you won't go for a 5 km walk while your kid rides it home

Where does it say you get a 5km range on this?

      • it doesn't state range ….. but some people take their kids for a walk, sunshine, air, fitness, etc ….. what distance would you expect ? It won't even last 3kms.
ok around the house I guess if you have carpeted floors.

          Plastic front wheel?!

        • but some people take their kids for a walk, sunshine, air, fitness, etc

not many people would take a 3/4yo of a 5km walk

        • when i mean take kids for a walk in i mean in a stroller or a push trike ……some women jog 5 km with a pram ……5 km isn't a long distance.

    • I think you had too much of an expectation on these things.

      • I guess 1 hour of battery time is reasonable to expect.

    Landfill.

    • Can you short circuit the battery to at least make it go out with a bang?

        More like a whimper

Put in some some lithium powerbanks and over clock it, Colin Furze style.

        • +1 for the Furze reference.

      Does he still wear nappies?

      • +2

        Wont we all eventually

  • Salesman's like "What up, what's your budget?"

And I'm like "Honestly, I don't know nothing about Mopeds"

He said "I got the one for you, follow me"

    Ooh, it's too real

Chromed out mirror, I don't need a windshield

Banana seat, a canopy on two wheels

Ninety nine cash? That's a hell of a deal
