  Weird, I read fantasy books and follow the scene but haven't heard of this "bestselling" series. Anyone read it? Any good?

    Took me some time to find reviews. I have a feeling the author's book success is mostly hype. My kids love fantasy though, so, as long as the author doesn't have worrisome themes, I'll give it a go.
    From interviews, she seems decent enough. Some authors have some pretty disturbing views so I screen children's authors these days. Mostly for propaganda rather than profanity or violence. Whether you like it or not, violence and profanity are a fact of life, but, propaganda is a whole different ballgame.

      I'm curious. These are fantasy books for kids and young adults. What kind of propaganda could these books possibly be pushing?

  Mixed reviews Amazon, tends to make me think "another in the modern trend of write a multi book story, a trilogy that would be better as a single book" but I stress that opinion is only on a read of reviews. Not for me.
