Halo Reach Standard Ed $84 at JB

121

A great price from JB HiFi for Halo Reach which was released today. Better be quick though, cos it ends tomorrow.
While there are other deals to order this online from overseas, this is the best in-store price that I could find.
Although I didnt actually visit JB and I got my pre-order from Harvey Norman pricematched to JB's $84.

Everybody else doing the same price, GAME, EB, BIGW, etc.

    • EB is $118, Game is $99, Big W is the same, $108 at Dicksmith.

      • Remember they will always match it, like GAME low price guarnateed.

I bought it from GAME $84 and traded MW2 for $75, paid $9.

        • Pricematching doesn't mean they are the same price, or else they wouldn't have to pricematch, which they only usually do if their competitor's have stock.

But I agree on that I don't think that this is a bargain.

  • EB are doing it for $84 today

  • $69.50 (incl express shipping) ordered online through - http://www.game-lane.com.au/xbox-360-games/2035-halo-reach-x…
If you do buy from there and feel generous use my store's email - [email protected]

  • Some posters seem to have missed the "in-store" part of my post. I acknowledged that there were better prices available online, but the benefit of going to JB (or a price-matching competitor), is the fact that you get it on the day, rather than waiting (up to a few weeks in some cases).

    • You said "online from overseas".

No one has negged the deal, I didn't because of the walk-in comment. Some people would prefer to wait a week and save $10, or do you prefer we just positive vote your deal and not discuss the product and alternatives?

No please, continue to discuss. I should have omitted the 'overseas' part from my OP. That said, I have ordered from cdwow before, and the Queen shipped my game to me from the UK.

  • The OP is right, all of the websites with lower prices that have been listed above are just alternate .com.au portals to overseas retailers. $84 is the best price available, until tomorrow.

How is this a bargain? Standard in-store price. A bargain is the $54 you can get it from eBay as posted by another member earlier today. Refer to his thread.

Above is one example of where you can get it cheaper.

Btw, I just finished this game and am taking it back tomorrow to trade it in. A bit of a disappointment to be honest.

Get it if you are a Halo fan, otherwise stay clear…massive framerate issues, pathetic musical score which not as good as the first one, familiar stages and enemies, exactly the same game mechanics as every other Halo game, hardly any extra weapons (same weapons for a decade now), graphics not up to par for 2010 although a slight improvement over its predecessors and you can't even dual wield weapons any more.

    • It's a bargain by virtue of the fact that it that at the time of posting, $84 was the best price offered by a store which you could walk into today to pick it up. I've acknowledged that you can order it online, but that doesn't get it to you today/tomorrow when the promo ends.
Most mad Halo fans will not want to wait a week or even a few days to get it. So therefore if you want it straight away, the bargain stands.
As I also mentioned you can get it pricematched at other retailers (like I did) and other posters have mentioned that other stores have also lowered their prices, but i cannot confirm this as they do not advertise their lowered price on their website.

Most gamers don't buy Halo for the campaign…it's all about the multiplayer. :)

And who ever dual wielded anyway?

    • Halo is more about multiplayer than single player these days…

  • Sorry Gump but I do not agree. A bargain by definition is a thing bought or offered for sale more cheaply than is usual or expected. Refer to http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1O999-bargain.html

$84 being the best price you can get the game is not a bargain in my eyes and shouldn't be posted here. It is a standard JB price for a new release game and is definitely not a cheaper price than usual or expected.

    • lol no need to get technical mr whiz, it's a good deal for those who want it sooner

alot of deals on here aren't exactly your definition of bargain either, but they're still good because there either informative or seen as a bargain from a different perspective

Sorry, but I agree with Whiznet.

  • It's cheaper than it was yesterday and cheaper than it is currently advertised on other retail store websites. So it fits your definition of a bargain. As you can get it before any cheaper alternative, it certainly is the best price on offer to get by tomorrow.

  • Yay…another argument over the definition of a bargain. :D

  • whiznet, you are a bit late for april fools day, you realise right?
