Anyone Sold Your Cars to Sellmycar before?

Their online quote seems pretty attractive.

Anyone sold the card to them before?

I am wondering if they are adding surcharge or anything else
so that we never get paid with the price we see in the quote.

I see no where that asks about condition. Take your car to them and they'll point out every bit wrong with the car to bring the price down to a realistic figure.

They'll buy it for around the same as any dealership will.

Unless you need quick cash, chuck it up on Carsales/Gumtree

I did an online valuation and it was $7500 but my car had extras such as tinted windows, leather seats and couple other things so thought i could get more plus I had low km's.

Went in and they offered $6K and bumped it to $6500 when I started walking out.

Ended up just doing a trade in at a dealership. Sellmycar uses a high valuation as bait to get you in as you need to bring all your paperwork with you and they hope you just cave in

I did online valuation and went in with my car. The guy was very arrogant and not at all intrested in the sale. he did not even have the time to see the car , he was very busy doing something in his computer. i came back and posted on carsales,. I got lot better price and the transaction was very fast. I will never ever go to sell my car no advice anyone.

    Regards.
    Ravi.

  • They will give u an online quote that is awesome..then show up and talk u down.
mate was offered 19K for his car.. when they showed up they reduced it to 12K

They have gotten in trouble for Bait and Switch advertising before

  • Dont waste your time, anyone not willing to come and check the car out themselves is not worth the time and effort. They prey on the idea that you are desparate enough to sell to them knowing you have put in this much effort to date. I would rather just trade in or private sale. Private Sale - and give some individual the benefit of a good deal, because if you list privately at their quoted rate the car will sell very quick.

  • Tried to sell my near new Cruze to them to see what I was gonna get. Initial online value was about $4000 under retail which I wasn't too fazed about since that probably accounts for their reconditioning costs. They then inspected my car and offered me $2100 under their quoted price and tried to justify the price with absolute bs. They're a waste of time unless you're really in a pickle and need to sell your car then and there.
