Looking for a 4G Plus Modem with Ethernet

Hi,

I'm looking for a 4g plus modem with ethernet (to connect a thermal printer for my business), but I don't want to pay $250 for a modem provided by Optus as it is a temporary solution (1-2months).

I'm on a month to month contract, $70 for 100GB (50+50).

I just got the $70, 100GB month to month too and just bought the Optus 4G Plus modem from Officeworks for $45. You can buy a range extender with ethernet port from Kogan for $25 delivered. Might be your cheapest overall solution. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/universal-wi-fi-range-extender/

    • thanks, might just do that ;)

it should work if I link up my printer via ethernet then connect my POS via wifi to extender right?

      • Should do! We're running our home network including Chromecast through the Optus hotspot no issues.

        • How can that range extender connect to the 4g plus modem which doesnt have WPS though?

        • @donkeydoc: Usually you use your computer to connect to the Range Extender directly (using Wifi), then you navigate to the settings webpage for the Range Extender and enter the connection details for the 4G Plus Wifi Hotspot. Then the range extender will connect to the 4G Plus Wifi hotspot.

Do you already have a 4g modem?

You just need a 4g capable router. Something like this:

    • are u using this router on your month to month contract? able to provide me with its pros and cons?

I use it for PAYG mobile broadband, when my ADSL isn't working (for whatever reason).

able to provide me with its pros and cons?

It was the cheapest 4G router I could find. Most of the traffic I'm pushing is out to the internet and it works fine. I don't have lot of LAN traffic.

4G routers from Dovado are really popular if you're looking for performance.
