Looking to Buy Headphones To Use While Running - Any Advice?

Can someone recommend a good set of headphones to use while running?

I am currently looking at Sennheiser CX1.00 from Telstra store on eBay

Budget is under $100

Any help would be appreciated :)

"Looking to buy headphones while running - any advice?"

probably easier to buy when standing still

  • I'd probably get these ones if I was looking for a new cheap set to work out in.

use what you have with a rubberband around your forehead

Might be a bit more than you're willing to spend but I'm currently using Apple Airpods for running and they work a treat. I've never had any issues with them falling out and I've run 2 half marathons with them in. I previously used Apple Earpods but the cord started to get annoying when running longer distances. I've also tried the Jaybird X2 but could never get them to sit well in my ears and they always managed to fall out.

    • +1 for the AirPods.

  • Everyone's ears are different, but I would tend to go for ones that can hook around your ear so that it doesn't come loose or fall out. I also prefer wireless ones.

I use Plantronics Backbeat Fit. Sweatproof, wireless for 5-7 hours. controls on the headphone so it makes it easier to use the controls rather than on the cord. You can get it on sale around 80.

  • Check out the adidas 680 series of headphones. They come in many different configurations - i found the one as a headband the most secure, though the fit in the ear wasn't comfortable for long listening sessions. You want one that lets some sound in so you can hear cars - ie not a full in ear canal phone that isolates outside sound - you need to let some sound in to be aware of your surroundings

  • MPOW Cheetah's are the best running headphones I've used.
Under $50. Sound pretty good. Great battery life. And never in danger of falling out.

  • How about a budget ?

I run a lot and have tried heaps and whilst I am not normally a big fan of overpriced Bose, these are great

really comfortable, stay in, water resistant and sound is acceptable

    • @slow - damn you for making me spend a good hour looking at Bose products ;)
nah, seriously, thanks mate. these look really good and comfortable. both soundsport and soundsport wirelsss are looking good to me. thanks heaps, i think i might go with one of these.

  • Don't get the sennheise CX for running. Good earbuds with great sound but a lot of reverb and extra noise when running/moving.

I've been using the xiomi wireless ear buds they are cheap but also not fantastic in terms of sound quality, but at least comfortable fit and bluetooth for ~$30.

  • What'd you get m8?

    • hey, i ended up getting jaybird x3 and am happy with it.
