Cheapest Way to Get to Portugal January 2018

Hi all…wondering if any one can help -

I would like to get to Portugal for at least 2 weeks in early January from Brisbane or Gold Coast and return by early February. I am looking for the absolute cheapest way to get there knowing it is school holidays. I am wondering if anyone can come up with a super cheap option.

Happy to go anywhere in the world along the way for stopovers, transits, deviations, adventures, warzones etc of any duration in any direction or with any back tracking. Am exploring the options via LCC to Asia then onward but not finding anything sub approx $1500…Would love to get there and back sub $1000 (dreaming I know!). TIA

      Yeah ouch on the flying times..but something to work with. Thanx…Momondo seems to pull up better options than Skyscanner

    Plenty of flights available to Madrid just over the border for around $1130 with decent flight times and layovers with Qatar. Then just hop on an easyjet for around 55 euros to lisbon.

      Maybe Portugal should have plonked their flag down in Australia when they had the chance.
