Hi all, I just purchased an OPPO F1s from Big W. My Son has the Kogan Voda sim prepaid for 1 year deal.
I just read that the phone will not work that great on VODA we are in the Newcastle area. Is it worthwhile getting the phone unlocked (options?) and trying the Kogan sim or me using the Kogan sim in my phone Sony z3 amd finding him an optus sim deal (options?)

Best to use an Optus network reseller like kywst just mentioned.
What network is the phone locked to? I ask because I have a new OPPO A57 but it is not locked to any network so I can use any prepay sim with it.
I have not activated the Kogan sim yet, I got mine with the 1.00 deal about a week or so ago on here. I still have some credit on my prepay from Aldi, so I am waiting a week or so. My plan is to port my number over when I do move to Kogan. They have a great deal on for an annual prepay https://www.koganmobile.com.au/plans/mobile/ I want to try to take advantage of it before the end of July also.
It's locked to Optus.
It's really only for my son to SMS, Call and email within the Newcastle area.
Any options for unlocking?

Not the cheapest — there are a couple a buck or two cheaper on eBay — but in my experience, by far the best.
Amaysim deal here … $60 for 1.5GB data/unlimited calls/text for 12 months … actually not sure if you can stack for 12 months but definitely $29.90 for 6 months.
