Smart Plug / Switch that can be controlled away from home

Hi,
I'm looking for a smart switch/plug where I can control to turn it on and off when I'm not at home via my mobile app on 3G.
So not just controlling the switch when I'm connected to the same WiFi

For security purposes, I'd like to leave the smart switch on while I'm away on hols or at work, and when I'm away I can turn on and off the switch at random times

Can anyone suggest any products?
I've looked at a few but there are no clear description on the ability to control without needing to be on same wifi network

    Do you actually require the ability to turn it on and off remotely or will randomly turning things on and off be enough because you can use electronic timer switches to do this, 10 bucks at Coles or whatever.

    Vast majority of wifi enabled switches are actually cloud based, therefore they can be controlled via app from anywhere. Belkin is one example, which is probably less risky from the security point of view and is certified in australia.

    Wemo Switch. You can control it remotely and apply schedules. It also has IFFTT and Amazon Alexa support so you can even control it with your voice.

    Sure there are cheap Chinese offerings but there is some comfort in knowing these are Aussie certified.
