I have signed to the Amex deal and have 100 k Amex points and want to use it to book a hotel in Sydney for family.
I am aware if the Amex travel where one can book hotels using points, but was wondering if there is a better way to book hotels to get the most out of the points.

I would strongly recommend you keep the poitns for international flights, and use one of the agodas, booking.com type of sites to find the hotel for a discounted price,
the value for point per $ is so much higher
but if you need or want to use it for hotels, then you should :)
