Currently the area we need to use stepping pavers is about 40sm and its all just red dirt, not sure once levelled off if to put weed mat down then pavers and small rock or do crusher dust, sand base instead of weed matt?

Nope we'll be doing it all ourselves, completed 60mm retaining wall, lined it and backfilled, currently adding all the plants and palms, just not sure what to use under the pathways.
That is a huge wall.
600mm high. not 60m. and its 11m long.
Concrete solves the weed problem
Spoke with local landscape supplier, he advised spray any weeds, once dead use weed mat, add 4/5cm of crusher then small pebbles and its done. Booked local labour hire service to do it.
Perhaps speak to a landscaper.
